Couple of days old, but Holtby is quoted below items on Nabakov and Wild's Backstrom

Didn’t see Biron sliding all over the place.
The problem with some people is that when they aren't drunk, they're sober. ---William Butler Yeats
The line is out of context, if I remember it correctly from the video. He was talking about shootout conditions after they’ve just resurfaced, as opposed to practicing shots at the end of practice when the ice is all chewed up. Which is an interesting point; maybe they should resurface the shooting area before Juice Boy.

I’ve wondered why the ice isn’t resurfaced before OT, but is resurfaced for the shooters in the shootout.

They don’t actually resurface for the shootout, they just cut the ice (they don’t lay down water). As trashed as the ice is after 25 minutes of hockey, the shooters would be at a huge disadvantage trying to get the puck to settle down on wrecked ice.
I think they skip the ice cut for OT to keep the game moving for the TV broadcasts.

This is a distinction I probably would never have known existed. Or rather, I would never have known it’s possible to do one without the other.
Do they skip laying down water so shooters don’t have to wait as long for the ice to be ready?

IIRC from the CSN piece he’s talking about the SO. That most of the time practice SOs are done at the end and the ice is chewed up, so he wanted to practice them on fresh ice.
Alright, confess-how many goals are you going to make this year?
"I'm not going to tell!"
Well can you at least guarantee fifty?
"No way. I have a different objective. To win."
