MRTS peoples: if you’re not contending for the playoffs and you’ve started making longer term roster decisions, that’s completely understandable. but please at least start everyone on your roster that’s eligible on a given night. there are two races going on…one race for the top 2 seeds and a first round bye, and one for the 6th seed and a playoff birth. it’s likely you’re playing a team that is competing in one of those two races.
P.S. i think some owners might not be aware that you can set your rosters at the beginning of the week (without checking in every day) by clicking ahead and activating the guys for subsequent nights, then pressing the “submit” button. i check in every day because i’m mildy OCD, but it’s not necessary if you’re not making roster changes.

I don’t think you need to worry about this. We’ve had a very active league all year and none of us are swantzes that would tank. Plus, draft position aside, there is something to be said for not being the doormat of the league.
However, it cuts both ways. Even teams that don’t have a chance of making the playoffs can still use the wire to tweak their teams down the stretch, even if only for this season. That shouldn’t affect you, because I’ve noticed most of your pickups are in the middle of the night before any of us wake up!
hey i’m a student, what can i say.
…and while it’s probably more laziness than anything (i understand there is less incentive to check in once your chances at winning have died), it’s already happening. that’s why i bring it up.

since this is the fantasy hockey fanshot..
i love the strategy by lidstrom here, saying he’d consider taking cam ward first overall to get the carolina fans behind his team.
clearly a gambit. now if staal gets first choice, he’s already admitted he’ll consider picking ward to keep the goalie away from lidstrom’s team. meanwhile the wily veteran lidstrom gets his REAL first choice of all the playmaking forwards available, and staal wastes a first round pick on a goalie who isn’t considerably different than the other goalies available. sensational gamesmanship.
