25 Bullets! Nice work, Emily. And here I was wondering what I’d be doing all day…
Atta dinnin stick a who!
something else to pass the time: Ska St. Petersburg (Afinogenov, Yashin, Zubov, Nabokov) vs. Dinamo R on ESPN3, just started (10am). they’re doing a russian “na-na-na-na, hey-hey-hey, goodbye,” just minutes into the first period.

Loved the Cato piece on secondary ticket markets. Stubhub has been a great resource in getting tickets the past few seasons.

I second that. I just got tickets to the preseason game in boston on wednesday. I payed 12 each for lower bowl seats (about 20 each after fees and shipping), and the price on the ticket was 69. I’ll try and give a good report after I get home from the game, since no one will probably be able to see it.
Just saw on Puck Daddy that the Rangers are going to put Redden on waivers. How long have we seen this one coming for?
Never underrate the power of the hissy-cow.
For while, I presume. The question is …. will anybody bite and thus relieve the Rangers of a bad contract?
Rocking the Red since 1975
No. Probably not even on re-entry waivers. The deal is just too long.

I posted the list of players put on waivers today here.

Question for discussion (on this beautiful Saturday afternoon):
If Cody was eligible for Hershey, would he still be practicing/playing with the big club?
You perhaps knew me better as "Your Nation's Capital." Same great commentary, now with 100% more transparency!
Per Katie C’s twitter, two more to Hershey, Wellar and Holtby:
so based on my notes, remaining in camp (39):
G (3): Neuvirth, Sabourin, Varlamov
D (11): Alzner, Carlson, Collins, Erskine, Fahey, Green, Miskovic, Nycholat, Poti, Schultz, Sloan
F (25): Aucoin, Backstrom, Beagle, Bouchard, Bradley, Chimera, Eakin, Fehr, Fleischmann, AGordon, BGordon, Greentree, Hendricks, Johansson, Joudrey, King, Knuble, Laich, GMcNeill*, Ovechkin, Perreault, Pinizzotto, Semin, Steckel, Willsie
*Grant McNeill is listed as a dman on the Caps rosters, but he skates with the forwards in practice and plays wing for Hershey
Hershey contract players still in camp (2): Nycholat and GMcNeill
FA invite (1): Hendricks
Players report for Hershey’s camp on Monday, on-ice Tuesday, so some more assignments may happen after tonight’s preseason game, plus the Caps schedule only lists one practice time starting tomorrow.

Will this game be on Pred TV / is finding a stream of this game a possibility or will it be like the last preseason game with radio only?
Proud member of the Popsicle Division of the Cupcake Conference.
Today I went to watch practice for the first time this (pre) season. The morning skate started earlier than the “advertised” time of 10:30. I had arrived around 10:15 and drills were in earnest. I talked to a woman in a Team Sweden jersey who was taking pictures and she had arrived at 9:45 and also noticed the guys were out their early. In an amazing bit of timing, we were talking about Backstrom when he skated by the stands and did a stick tap. (I presume he noticed the Team Sweden jersey.)
Other news. Kettler had now separated the pro shop and the team store. The pro shop has been relocated to be upstairs on 2nd floor. Reports are that the traffic to the Team Store is light except around the time frames when practice is happening. There’s now extra room for customers to look around (in both stores) but did separating them cost them the synergy?
Rocking the Red since 1975
So, congratulations to Francois Bouchard. He gets to play on the Caps top line in tonight’s preseason game.
I was at practice and noticed a hirsute brown haired fellow on the line with Knuble and Backstrom who was obviously not Ovi. I asked someone who it was and found out it was Bouchard. CI has confirmed that Bouchard will, indeed, be skating on the top line. Bouchard is the closest friend of Perreault (speaking of hirsute).
Rocking the Red since 1975
anyone on line know of any feeds to the game tonight?
I went to a fight, and a hockey game broke out!
No TV, but WFED 1500 radio is streaming online (and I believe that’s available outside the DC area).
