Question of the Day
Baseball players have songs that play when they come up to bat. If hockey players did something similar, what songs would each of the Caps select? (h/t @sic_spero)

oh hi.
Brooks Laich’s song would clearly be Mr. Nice Guy by Will Smith.

Circles in the Sand by Belinda Carlisle.
You perhaps knew me better as "Your Nation's Capital." Same great commentary, now with 100% more transparency!

Backstrom totally comes out to I Trollehender by Lumsk. Norwegian, but still applicable as it’s strong and delicate at the same time, just like our boy.
btw, I roll on the floor whenever Michael Morse comes out to Take On Me.
Why wouldn't you play Perreault? He's a really talented young player.

the 1971 massey hall show he released on CD a few years ago contains his first live performance of old man. pretty great rendition. he also reworked cowgirl in the sand for that show, and the stripped down version is superior for my money.

DJ King: “Wanna Be Startin’ Something”, Michael Jackson
Alexander Ovechkin: “Break On Through (to the Other Side)”, The Doors
Mike Green: “Get Back”, The Beatles
John Carlson: “Born in the USA”, Bruce Springsteen
You had me at no problem.
Varly could have “Backin’ the USSR (to Olympic gold in 2014)” by the Beatles.
Why wouldn't you play Perreault? He's a really talented young player.
I played Born in the USA for RAHJC at a juke box in china town after game 2. It seemed to be a big hit, the whole bar was screaming it.
But still.. where did the lighter fluid come from?

Of course, you know we’ll be waiting with bated breath for an update with the few players who did not make your list…
Bravo CP…gladly making it green.

RB – If the choice was between the bands themselves then I’m with you. You know my love for Eddie and the boys.
However, I thought the Twisted Sister song fit Chimera better. When I think Chimera I just don’t think the movie Omen II. Plus, Jason plays like an SMF.

Ovie = "Fidelity" by Regina Spekter
In honor of my groomsman Barnabas Birkeland because that’s what he made his team listen to before/after every game in the French Elite league :o)
Also because Ovie is an inadvertant heart-breaker and bone-crusher, despite having a child-like playfulness about him. A good juxtaposition along with the song.
"Baseball was my first love... hockey is a sultry temptress and stole my heart." - Corey Masisak
Baseball and the Ottowa Senators. Everytime they score a goal it’s like a brand new musical adventure.
Makes me wish they have never traded Picard. Each of the 6 times he lights up the lamp it takes me back to Star Treck: TNG days… ahh… those were the days.
"Baseball was my first love... hockey is a sultry temptress and stole my heart." - Corey Masisak
Say Hello- Jay Z for Ovie.
I will always associate Jay-Z’s" PSA" with Holtby after they played that as the first song for the pregame warmups at every Hershey game last year. He seemed to sort of dance around to it while stretching.
"Just the fact that I knew something was bad, I knew it was probably broken, I knew I'd have to miss some time--that makes me upset more than anything."

I think everybody on the team should come out to Safety Dance by Men without Hats. . .that song can never be played too many times
It's The Wait for Red October. Except rather than Sean Connery, Alex Baldwin, and Sam Neill, it's George McPhee, Bruce Boudreau, and Alex Ovechkin.
Not Tom Clancy, but Gary Bettman. Not the Soviet Kremlin, but. . .well. . . .yeah, the Soviet Kremlin

Dale Hunter – Old Time Rock and Roll (Bob Seger)
