Brooks Laich booblehead for Caps 10/30 blood drive
I found out this morning at the Nats Park blood drive, when they asked me if I wanted to sign up. They said there would be a bobble head, and probably a t shirt as well. This is the link to the Inova blood services page or the phone number is (1-866-256-6372)

This sucks. They need to figure out a way to give out these bobble heads to people like me who can’t give blood. Too many years in England. Maybe I can volunteer some other way.
They usually give the prizes to everyone who tries to give blood. You might be able to get one if you just go through the screening process.
Why wouldn't you play Perreault? He's a really talented young player.
I know the time that I tried to and failed, I still got the Green bobblehead and T-shirt. I did have to go through the screening process, and I failed on the iron count (big surprise there, not!)

That said, going when you KNOW you can’t donate blood and going through the screening process takes up a space for someone who might have been able to, and prevents them donating blood, therefore may put someone who would have gotten that blood at risk, so I would never suggest going just to get the prize if you know for a fact you can’t donate. That’s not cool.

That’s why I didn’t donate blood for either the Semin or the Carlson bobblehead drives. I’ve had anemia in the past few years and would likely be turned down. (Would have liked either of those two bobbleheads,)

I’ve been deferred for low iron in the past. But I’ve been taking iron supplements and eating iron rich foods, and last Saturday, there was no question that my iron count was high enough. Interestingly enough, when I was deferred, they seemed to think I could try within a week. I thought that was surprisingly quick, but maybe the iron building campaign doesn’t have to go on as long as I would have guessed.
Me too. I was seriously low but they still gave me the Semin Bobblehead (I like Booblehead). I then took iron supplements and was able to give at the Carlson blood drive. I had no idea that I would also get to meet Carlson—made me doubly happy I made the effort.
"I’m very happy to hear the news," Ovechkin said when he heard about Backstrom's longterm contract--"because he’s one of the top centers in the world, one of my best friends and we want to play together for a long time. He’s a guy who wants to stay in one place and be comfortable and win, just like me. We talk all the time about playing together, and we talked after the playoffs about how we can win in Washington."

Will Brooksie himeself be making an appearance? If that’s the case, our rink rabbits will be showing up in full force?

No such luck. Caps will be in Nashville that night.

I wonder if the Brooksie bobblehead will be holding a tire iron?

What makes this particular typo a classic is how smoothly it oscillates between amusing and creepy. Also, made an appointment for 12:30, there’s no way I’d pass up a chance for a coveted Brooks Laich, “Booblehead”.
