Love, love, love this video. Makes it look like Nicky absolutely pwns the Flyers. But Pittsburgh is missing entirely, and the Caps had four pretty good games against this year. Also, they forgot to add the goal against the Thrashers that was AO’s 50th goal and Nicky’s 100th point. That was an awesome night.

There’s a highlight against Pitt that comes up at 8:45. The awesome wrap-around goal that he roofed over Brent Johnson’s shoulder just before taking a cross check in the back from none other than Brooks Orpik.

After watching this, you’ve really gotta wonder what Ovi’s numbers would look like without Backstrom on his line. I’m sure they’d still be phenomenal, but the two of them together are just sickeningly good.

He had 52 and 46 goals without Backstrom. However, his 3 seasons with Backstrom were his 3 highest scoring seasons – in terms of points.

Need Nicky's "Your Girlfriend is wearing..." teeshirt now

What a lovely way to spend my Sunday morning, watching Nicky aka Mean Lars at work. He is sublime.

At this point I don’t care if it’s Nicky helping Ovi or Ovi helping Nicky—we have one of the best pairings in the league and the two of them should just get better as they mature. Add in Grampa Slippers mixing it up and I’m salivating. Time for some hockey.
