Did I just travel back in time to 2003?
Because now I can justify browsing and commenting during the work day with the argument that I am promoting my business.
dunno, is the sombrero house worth twice as much as yesterday?
Just trying to capture the spirit of the thing...

Hmm, another RW? And it looks like an NHL player. Are we getting rid of someone?

He played four games for Colorado last season while spending most of the year with its American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Lake Erie Monsters. Willsie led Lake Erie in goals (26) and was third in points (57) in 75 games
Looks like it’s more of an AHL replacement after all. Gotta keep the Bears strong

Why?
I don’t know what the Caps need with him unless this is just a Hershey move. Points and GP declining drasticly each year. At his pace he’ll have more own goals than games played (extrapolation is awesome)
It’s a two contract. I’m guessing Hershey regular and occasional injury call-up type of guy.

Next up, Pettinger?
More Hershey depth. No biggie.

I wish I could conjure up some great memories of Willsie as a Cap, having seen him play in his most prolific season in ‘05-06 (those 19 goals came at a price of a plus/minus of -19, BTW). But alas, after wracking my brain… I cannot. At least it isn’t Rico Fata.
Maybe I’ll break out my old-school NHL 2K6 and play as him in honor of him tonight. I’m sure they’ll put him to good use in Hershey.

Took a while, but Youtube really does have everything, including a Brian Willsie caps highlight.
6:50 mark Willsie scores a shootout goal in that marathaon shootout where Malik schooled Kolzig.
I think, repeat that I think, in AO’s rookie season, he got speared by someone. Willsie stepped in, dropped the gloves, and got pounded. I think that very moment was the impetus to sign Brashear. But at least Willsie answered the bell.
That’s all I got.

I know you’re right, cause I’ve hated Ryan Whitney for that two-fer ever since.
Hey let's go, today is going to be our night
Speaking of spearing...
Anyone still hating on that dirty little Francophone Brière for flagrantly spearing Ovechkin? The $%R&(*)# never even got a penalty for that! Pepé le duche!!!

I’m just hanging out here in Switzerland. In case you’re trying to get a hold of me. Just saying. Yep. Switzerland. I’m in the book.
Sincerely,
Rico Fata
Dang it Fata, who showed you how to use the Internet!? Go back to whatever offensively-challenged town you came from.
I heard the Sault Sainte Marie Greyhounds needed a winger… I’m sure you could live in you parents basement.

It’s only a matter of time before his PDO for a season is 2.000!!!
Congratulations, Brian, on coming to the best sports organization in the world.*

Bears top line RW last year were A. Gordon and F. Bouchard. This move says to me the Caps expect A. Gordon to make the NHL club, or at least have a good shot.
By the way, judging from what John Walton said this week on the Old Barn Hockey Show, the Caps/Bears/rest of North America have until tomorrow to convince Chris Bourque not to go to Russia.

A RIGHT wing. A right wing that can score.
Welcome to Washington, Andrew Gordon.
You perhaps knew me better as "Your Nation's Capital." Same great commentary, now with 100% more transparency!
the question is who’s he replacing in Hershey? Giroux? Or someone coming up?

Willsie is a prime example of a one hit wonder on the Caps. One great year with 19 goals and 22 assists. Then, nada and playing in the AHL and slated for AHL duty.
The day the news broke that the Caps had signed Willsie to a 2 way contract was the same day that Puck Daddy posted an article on one hit wonders in the NHL who had had only one good season, like Jonathan Cheechoo.
