The following is nothing but thoughts from me...I have not seen this posted anywhere. With all the talk around Semin and Spezza being traded, I thought...hey Spezza would fit in nice here. Would love to hear others thoughts on the following:
Semin and Nylander to Ottawa for Spezza and Cheechoo.
From a Washington perspective, Spezza takes the #2 center spot and allows Fehr to move up to the second line. Spezza would have two guys that are 20 goal scorers and with Spezza could take it to the next level. Cheechoo could play on the third line with Flash and Perrault or Johansson.
From a Cap perspective, Caps actually free up $1M in cap space this year but take on the longer term contract of Spezza where the other players are all on one year deals.
Would the Caps need to add a prospect in the deal?
