"It was a tough series for us to play," Bears head coach Mark French said. "We played against a team that was very committed defensively and didn’t really care what they generated offensively. Some of our key players -- and our team in general -- had trouble accepting how you have to play against these guys to be successful."

Questions for discussion - what did Coach French advise his team to do and how did he get "our key players - and our team in general" to buy in?
Did the team buy in, or did they just get lucky?

"I like playing under pressure," Neuvirth said. "I like playing big games. But it’s sometimes tough for your head to not really feel the pressure. I think I did a great job against Bernier. He was the top goaltender in the regular season. I’m happy I proved I’m the better goaltender in the playoffs."
Love it. I really hope we go into next year with Neuvirth and Varlamov in the NHL. I think those guys are more than adequate if they are on top of their game for the playoffs.
As for the adjustment, I can’t really speak to whether there was much of one or how it happened; or whether MAN was just overpowered by HER despite HER illogical strategy.
I waited all year for this?

And from the Manchester version:
McNeill scored his first goal of the playoffs to knot the score at 2-2 at 14:09 of the third period. After an intense puck battle deep in the right wing corner, center Mathieu Perreault emerged from the scrum with the puck. The center passed the puck up to left wing Chris Bourque, positioned within the right face-off circle. One last pass by the Bears connected with McNeill at the top of the slot, who wristed a floater through traffic that found the top right corner of the net behind Bernier to push the overtime period.
I waited all year for this?
Another question would be – is the team prepared to do pretty much the exact same thing against the baby Canadiens? Will they have the patience to bear down again and gut out four more of these low-goal games?
I’d be the first to admit that I would prefer the Texas Stars, because they are different, they play in Austin rather than dreary Hamilton, and because I’m fairly sure they don’t trap, but it’s looking like the Bulldogs and a measure of retribution. (Also PK Subban, yay.)
I wanted the Stars but it’s because I want to see Carlznerson go head to head with Jamie Benn. It will probably be HAM and it will definitely be interesting to see how they respond. At least this time the Habs don’t have the best goalie – we already eliminated that guy. Beating MAN, who was hot as hell, riding a great goalie, and playing a stifling defensive style, gives me a measure of confidence. We still have the best team in the AHL and Neuvirth is playing great.

I am rooting for the Bulldogs because I can get to Hamilton in about 40 minutes so I can go and see some games.

I have no clue if this was on purpose, but I got some level of enjoyment out of it. Rec’d!
