I had hoped it would be at least a few more weeks, but that was not to be. So...
THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED, IN ANY WAY, IN THE JAPERS' RINK SAVES FOR KIDS PLEDGE DRIVE!
I cannot thank you enough, I cannot tell you how proud I am to be a Rink member and be a part of this. The list of name is incredibly long, too long to post, but every one of you is making a difference.
For the regular season (spreadsheet), we pledged $3935.30
For the playoffs, we pledged $595.15
Yes, $4530.45, all of it to go towards the Children's Hospital NICU.
So, how do you get your money to me/the Caps/babies in need?
You can Paypal your donation to me: robin[dot]taylor[at]student[dot]american[dot]edu. This is linked directly to the dedicated account I set up for our Saves donations.
You can mail me you check (make it payable to Washington Capitals Charities, Saves for Kids on the memo line):
Robin Taylor
1230 Half Street SW
Washington DC, 20024
You can send your donation directly to the Capitals (make it payable to Washington Capitals Charities, Saves for Kids on the memo line):
Kettler Capitals Iceplex
627 N. Glebe Road
Suite 850
Arlington, VA 22203
If you are sending a check to myself or the Capitals, please also include a completed donation form (pdf). If you need documentation for tax purposes, you must pay by check and have this form completed.
If you are in the Waterfront/Ballpark/Capitol Hill areas, I can possibly arrange to meet you in person. Contact me at robin[dot]taylor[at]student[dot]american[dot]edu. If you are in Georgetown, starting Monday, you can drop your donation off with Mr. B at the Georgetown Wachoiva branch at 29th & M Streets NW. Again, e-mail so I can give you his name.
Our goal is to collect as much of this as quickly as possible to try and give it to Theo is person. Again, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who participated; I've never been so proud to be part of a community as I am tonight. I hope we can do it again next year!
In Case you're wondering what the heck all of this is, check out the regular season pledge drive, which has the link to the Washington post article on Theo, and the playoff pledge drive fanposts.
