Just gotta say today has been anticlimactic so far. Aaron Ward and Denis Seidenberg are the big names moving? And Derek Morris, AGAIN? This sucks.

I feel like deadline day typically follows this pattern. Agreed that it’s anticlimactic so far but the bigger deals might trickle in between 3:00-3:45.

On TSN they were saying that at this time of day last year, there were two trades so far. There ended up being 25. We already have four or five this year.

What GMGM is looking for, according to other GMs

TEB noted yesterday at CI that the other GMs around the league have reported that GMGM is calling about veteran defense and a scoring line center.

This all comports with what we’ve noted and speculated about.

It specifically runs contrary to the Vokoun speculation that’s out there.

Make of that what you will…

I think its the system number one. However, I haven’t been enamored with any of the personnel this year either, especially the D. They get to the puck a lot. Clearing it out of the zone is a different story.

by CP2Devil on Mar 3, 2010 1:00 PM EST up reply actions

When you’re below the Medoza line of PK Pct (.800) everyone can shoulder a bit of the blame.

A D upgrade would be very nice, though, and specifically a D that helps on the PK.

I worry that you’re right that it’s systemic and not personnel-related problems; that’s not good.

I’d rather keep Flash, personally.

Not me. Fehr’s production has been better as a rate, and with lower quality team mates.

I think Fehr plays a style that is more likely to have playoff success, and I’m not convinced Flash will be more than a 20 goal scorer. We don’t need a 20 goal scorer that is soft right now. We’ve got skill-only guys that are better than Flash.

Killer_Carlson and Steckel Me Elmo are like brothers to me. And when I say brothers I don't mean like actual brothers. I mean it like how black people use it, which is more meaningful, I think.

This. Plus Fehr is the only young big body guy we have who’s shown any ability to score. Still improving, too.

Because he was brought up playing a certain successful style of hockey that guarantees playoff success of course
