One of the Pensbloggers sez Carolina is playing playoff hockey and the waddlebirds… aren’t.

But never say never.

I don’t think so. The only other option I know of is the NHLCI HD channel, which is only available in some Comcast HD markets. Comcast picks a couple HD games and shows them on this channel. You get it if you subscribe to HD.

It was still kinda humorous. I really thought Larose was gonna go backhand and pot that one, then he just falls. He did seem super sorry towards Fleury who was like “grrr”-ing at him. haha

Ottawa about to drop 3 games and 5 points back of Buffalo. Looking less likely they’ll win the division, especially with their playoff-bound-worst -17 differential.

Caps have 104pts in 71 games. Magic number is now 16pts. (Chicago winning out would have 120.) San Jose dropping four straight has been quite useful!

It's a Magic Number!

Caps
106 + (2*10) = 126 max

Penguins
90 + (2*10) = 110 max

Magic Number

110 – 106 = 4 + 1 = 5

Pittsburgh next plays Detroit on Monday. A loss there would drop the Magic Number to 3.

A Caps victory over the Penguins on Wednesday would drop the Magic Number to 1.

We could own the Conference on Thursday with even an OT loss in Carolina.

Regular end of the year implosion. Usually it happens closer/during the play-offs. . .hopefully they dont bounce back from it.

They’re gonna need to be at the top of their game to beat any team they draw from the West. Hopefully, PHX ends up 2nd so they dont have to take on Detroit. Would love to see SJS and ChiTown dropped in the first round.

Is there really an Oglethorpe Trophy? Pitt fans and Chicago fans would add one other name to that list.

Is the King Clancy Trophy also for real?

I’m afraid that some writers will vote for either Ryan Miller or Henrik Sedin for the Hart Trophy out of protest. (Don’t know about the players on the Pearson but I doubt if any player on Chicago would vote for Ovi for it.)

Evgeny Kuznetsov hams it up as he joins the Russia men's national team for the "Sweden Games" leg of the Euro Hockey Tour in Helsinki, Finland.

There's a bit of controversy as their game against the Finns is scheduled to be played in Helsinki's outdoor Olympic Stadium. Where the daytime temps are currently approximately minus-15 degrees Celsius, with periodic heavy snow.

This interview with head coach Zinetula Bilyaletdinov is fascinating, as he frets about the weather and especially when the reporters press him on the leaked reports that Kuznetsov will be centering the top line for Team Russia, just weeks after his 20th birthday.
