Briefly feeling a little bad for BMo, as he’s a sorta local guy and has friends-n-fam attending the game. That being said, it was his job to lose. And he did.

Hope Belanger is feeling the magic with Semin today.

I do like the Belanger line. I would at least once before the season is done to see Belanger and Chimera play together for the speed factor.

I actually didn’t do it myself, just cause I got the warranty with on-site service so I figured, why bother? But I don’t think the tech did either. HD is on the near right corner, fan/heat issue is far left. Good thought, though. Could still be related to opening it up. I may see if I can get in there and try to clean it out. It sounds like it’s working, just struggling.

it’s within the right of the ref to make that call with the boarding major—8 got him square in the numbers with the push.
Driving under the influence of hockey since godknow's when.
No, if the ref saw him hit him in the numbers then call it. Not 10 minutes later, after everyone had a chance to lobby for it. This isn’t DC, lobbying should have no effect. The boarding call was made. After that, it is settled, don’t add the extra bitch penalty afterward
↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → b a (select) start
Rule 42 – Boarding
42.1 Boarding – A boarding penalty shall be imposed on any player or goalkeeper who checks an opponent in such a manner that causes the opponent to be thrown violently in the boards. The severity of the penalty, based upon the degree of violence of the impact with the boards, shall be at the discretion of the Referee.
42.5 Game Misconduct Penalty – When a major penalty is imposed under this rule for a foul resulting in an injury to the face or head of an opponent, a game misconduct shall be imposed.
42.5 Game Misconduct Penalty – When a major penalty is imposed under this rule for a foul resulting in an injury to the face or head of an opponent, a game misconduct shall be imposed.

No doubt its a penalty, but come on, Campbell got up just fine. If the guy’s not injured, why kick Ovie out? He hit him from the side. I understand that Ovechkin probably could have used better judgement, but that wasn’t a hit from behind.

semin’s first call for hooking was not a penalty, he was on a breakaway and HE was hooked from behind.
my beef with goalie interference is that if Semin scored it wouldn’t be a penalty.
There were a couple of other poor calls. Several scruffs infront of the nets, one were Backstrom was blatantly punched in the mouth with two refs standing between them…The scruff at the end should end up being at least 2 fighting majors split, then hooking and elbowing on chi.
I mean if they want to nit pick every penalty wash does it should be the same way back. Tis a thing called consistency.
Joe Corvo understands we hold "Penguins" with as much disregard as theatre people do Macbeth.

No way, that Semin call was completely legitimate. He tried to hook the Hawks play to hold him and get by him.

Semin definitely hooked that guy. He wasn’t on the breakaway at first, he hooked the D to get position. Easy call. The second one… yeah well if he had scored it’s different, but he didn’t. You can’t barrel over the goalie. That’s easy. Just because he did it in the SO doesn’t make it OK.

yeah except we haven’t seen that explosion of offense in the 3rd since coming back from the olympics
"Hey anyway I can get my name out there 30 years from now is great," Steckel said. "They will be like, ‘Who was that guy?’ Then they’ll look at the stats and say, ‘Well, at least that guy was really good on face-offs.’"
All the more reason, right?

It ain’t over until Don Cherry sings.

NBC just said they’re going to Mike Milberry asking if ovie’s hit was clean. I wonder what such an unbiased journalist thinks….?

The rules are just wishy washy. Until they straighten that crap out, all players and fans will be miserable.

Only caught the tail end of Milbury’s comments, but yeah, I was a bit stunned to hear good sense coming out of his mouth. Shocking to say the least.
Ref saw Ovechkin, saw a player go hard into the boards, saw Campbell milk it like a champ. If he’s out there to start the 2nd period like I suspect he will it’s going to eat me up. Ridiculous.

I’m officially a fan of sitting Sloan out.

Saw the Ovie hit as well – that is a 2-minute penalty, borderline 4. No clue how that becomes a major/misconduct.
I blame Matt Cooke.
No seriously, the refs were disgraced by the non-call so they have to rebound and be extreme. It happens in every major sport.
Joe Corvo understands we hold "Penguins" with as much disregard as theatre people do Macbeth.
Now if we can only get Locker to start calling him Jumbo Joe. . .
Completely agree

I say borderline 2 minute. It wasn’t late, it was from the side, and it was at least 8 feet from the boards. The only reason that it was called was that Campbell (who’s supposedly strong on his skates) goes down like a sack of potatoes and then stays down for a few to pretend like he’s hurt.

Okay so he was hurt, but still bad call.

So...Re: Ovie/Campbell
Amazingly Milbury & LeBrun get it right …
The refs on the ice, eh, not so much….
However, none of that matters unless the Caps need get some energy and spark going….

So was that just another dis' of Green by Milbury or...
just trying to mix up the discussion? So tell me again what was Milbury’s track record as coach and GM? I know he was just an average player but didn’t he basically s@%k as a GM and Coach? Why do they make us listen to him on NBC?…
