Number of teams who are averaging more than one goal scored-per-game versus allowed-per-game:

Number of games the Washington Capitals have lost by more than one goal in 2010:

As i said last night, the Caps have a goal differential of +75 after 67 games, its been 4 years since a team finished the season with a differential of more than 1goal per game. (2005-2006 Wings and Sens)

by Ovechwin on Mar 12, 2010 6:04 PM EST reply actions

Haha, the only thing I knew about Walker before he came to the Caps was the cheapshot against Boston last year. So I was a little reserved in him coming here, but after reading the articles about him loving the Metro (and him scoring a couple goals for us of course), I don’t think I could ever be mad at the guy.

by Capcrazy77 on Mar 12, 2010 6:08 PM EST up reply actions

I was thinking that surely one of his new teammates could have offered him a ride, but then I thought maybe he just wanted to try it out.

Would’ve been funnier if he went in an Ovie jersey though.

Now helping to keep an eye on all things Gr8 at Alex Ovetjkin.

by EmilyB on Mar 12, 2010 6:14 PM EST up reply actions

Even funnier if he wore his own jersey and a newer Caps fan asked “who the heck is Walker?” Honestly though, I wouldn’t want to drive through DC either.

by Capcrazy77 on Mar 12, 2010 6:18 PM EST up reply actions

He doesn’t have a car yet I don’t think. I’m surprised he hasn’t rented.

Yea, I think one of the articles said his wife took the car.

by Capcrazy77 on Mar 12, 2010 6:21 PM EST up reply actions

The article about how excited he was to take the metro was really cute. I was surprised, too, that he and his wife don’t have separate cars. I’m sure he needs to get his bearings about the city before he wants to try and drive there.

I suppose jerseys for pro athletes are like costumes for actors — you’re not allowed to touch it unless you’re actually dressing for a game (or team event); it is the team’s property and up until pregame it’s the equipment manager’s responsibility.

"Camaraderie, that's what the Washington Capitals are all about."

by CapitalCentre on Mar 12, 2010 6:21 PM EST up reply actions

Yea, I wouldn’t ever expect that to happen, I was just speaking hypothetically.

"Camaraderie, that's what the Washington Capitals are all about."

by CapitalCentre on Mar 12, 2010 6:23 PM EST up reply actions

Of course, if a player was wearing his own jersey, he’d probably have a really big ego.

BB continues to have fun with all the possible combinations. 55, 74, 18 scratches tonight, enven though the J had a great set-up pass to flash for the game winner on wednesday.

by hockeyman33 on Mar 12, 2010 6:44 PM EST up reply actions

One play doesn’t mean anything in the grand scheme of things, though Carlson doesn’t necessarily deserve a scratch, it’s probably just his turn in the rotation.
