New Eastern Conference Playoff Tracker
Hey folks, I've updated the Eastern Conference Playoff tracker. I've made a couple of updates which are listed after the jump. The link to download the file is here:
If you find any errors, let me know.
So here are the features:Head to head comparison
Making predictions (or entering actual results) updates the head to head comparison
Fixed a couple of bugs in regards to the magic number tracking
The magic numbers still don't take tiebreakers into account, but oh well.

Hey, btw, where specifically do I find the Western Conference version on that site? I’m probably missing something obvious

The guy who made the original (it was a REALLY bare bones version of the above) made it two years ago. I’m not sure there’s a new version of the Western Conference one.
It won’t take me THAT much effort to make it… do you really want one?
Ah, ok. I wouldn’t want you to do it just for me—I’d feel bad if I were the only one who actually used it, haha. I figured that if it already existed I might as well keep that one around as well, but if no one else here wants it don’t worry about it.
Back on topic, this is definitely one of the best pieces of user-created content on the site, up there with the Japers’ Rink Glossary. Well done, sir.

I’m a sucker for an Excel challenge. I put it together, though there may be errors, I really didn’t check this one closely at all.

Ha. You ROCK. I won’t even be upset if I tell all my friends that the Sharks’ magic number is 22 and it’s really 23 ;)
Btw: am I correct in assuming that this doesn’t need macros to function properly? Office for Mac doesn’t support macros so I’ve never really understood what they are in this context, but everything looks to be working fine (i.e. I can put in results on the left and everything updates properly and what not)

Correct, there are no macros within. Everything updates automatically given you haven’t disabled automatic calculations.

One thing that would be cool to see is some sort of indicator for how close teams are from being eliminated from playoff contention.

Once teams are eliminated their names get crossed out. But its easy enough to add tragic numbers in another table.

Ah, nice. I should’ve figured you would have that in there already :)

Wow, this is awesome! However, I am not sure what all the abbreviations mean…could someone give me a rundown if it isn’t too much trouble. I have been a major fan since I was born (thanks to my parents), but I haven’t really gotten into stats until recently. I know this is like the 4th obvious (or should be) question I have asked since I joined like a week ago.
