3/14 Capitals/Blackhawks Game Watch at ESPN Zone Baltimore
NBC has picked up this game, and it will start at 12:30pm. Now that we have a time, we can finally get this game watch organized.
I already spoke with my boss about a large group wanting to come in and watch this game. She was all for it. Since it will be competing with the final day of NCAA Basketball conference tournaments, we will probably not be getting it on the big screen BUT we have a private room with 6 large plasmas and it's own audio that would be available to us. It is right behind the main bar, so we'd have a good setup.
So now we just need a rough count of who is in and how many you will be bringing, so I can reserve the room.
Vote in the poll, and if you are coming +1 or more, let me know in the comments.
UPDATE: We are all set for Sunday. I have the room reserved and the reservation is under my name, Jenn. The reservation starts at noon and the Zone opens at 11:30am. So when you get to the host stand just let them know you're with me, and they'll show you to the Bristol Suites. Also, the St. Patty's Day parade is that day, so I included the traffic advisory I received about it:
St. Patrick's Day Traffic Advisories: More Details to Follow
Parade: Sunday March 14The parade will begin at 2 pm at the intersection of Charles and Centre Streets. It will continue from Cathedral to St. Paul, Charles Street to Pratt Street, and it will disband at Market Place at Pratt Street.
5K Shamrock Run: Sunday March 14
The Shamrock Run will begin at 1:15pm at the 500 Block of North Charles Street. It will head South to Conway, East to Light Street, and South to Key Highway. Runners will turn around at Jackson Street to Key Highway, North on Light Street, and East on Pratt Street.
Motorists are advised to plan accordingly.

Too far in advance for me to commit. I’m definitely gonna try to make it though.

I’m in. Haven’t been near the Inner Harbor in a long time. Which garage will rip me off the least?

Everything is jacked up on the weekends. I park in the Pier V lot right behind the Zone, but I get discounted parking there. Everything around the Zone is between $15-$20
parking on the streets of little italy is do-able, yes? i may walk all the way from fells point to avoid the headache.

you just have to know the right streets! (and maybe a cab number for the way back..)

and yes, 3 hour parking in Little Italy (you can park for longer with an area 18 permit but have to be a resident), open street parking on Pratt street east of Presidents and most streets north of pratt if you can find it.

I park in FP and take the Water Taxi.

You all might want to think about the Charm City Circulator. It’s a new, free shuttle that goes from Harbor East to Hollins Market. There is only one line right now – the Orange line. There is a stop right in front of the Zone. Here’s the LINK to the route. It starts operating on Sundays at 9am, so you would all be good.

if you don’t mind walking a couple extra blocks, there are garages that are only $3 for the whole day 400 S. CENTRAL AVENUE

I’m sure, but Central Avenue is not a very safe area of town. Just sayin’.

yeah nothing to worry about. The garage is in the middle of Little Italy. High end import vehicles park on the street.

I’m definitely coming, and I’m going to try to bring my dad and my brother who I often watch games with. I know exactly where it is – been there several times.

I’m sorry, I won’t be able to make it :-( My board of directors is in meetings that weekend
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK! I have to miss one of the biggest games of the year to hand hold a bunch of over-coddled middle aged nurses? fuck fuck fuck (sorry, JP)

Anyone know where I can get some good seats at a reasonable price?

Hey all…just realized that this is the day of the Baltimore St. Patrick’s Day parade. The Zone usually has specials on Irish products, including car bombs.
Unfortunately that also means more traffic downtown. So if you’re coming from the South, I’d avoid coming thru the city the traditional ways (aka Pratt Street). Just a heads up.

Any ideas on how to get to Bmore from VA? Oh how I wish the one Rink get together while I was in town was in Ballston instead…

Hitch a ride w/ Ovechwin and Beta. They’re coming up that morning. Or Metro to New Carrollton and then Marc Train into Baltimore. This would show MADDDDDDD commitment to the Rink and the Caps!

marc doesn’t run on the weekends. You can always metro and metrobus to BWI and then take the light rail up to Camden Yards and either walk if the weather is nice, or take the Charm City Circulator, it’s a free bus that takes you from one side of the harbor out to Fells Point.

Yea, I’m thinking I might just try to arrange a VA-based viewing party…a couple friends of mine are already planning on going somewhere in Ballston, maybe I’ll see if any Rinkers who can’t make it to Bmore would want to come with.

You’re missing out! We’re AWESOME
And I’m sure Ovechwin and Beta can give you a ride. I’m pretty sure they don’t bite.

I’ll think about it…I am inherently lazy though, so walking to Ballston will likely win out

Most likely won’t be there. Wasn’t feeling the drive to begin with.. now I hear there’s a parade. Sorry, hometown. Looking like a no-go for me.
My ability to post is only surpassed by my ability to pinch pennies.

weak excuse! maybe if hockey games were one-hour long that would fly.

Well, I’m in NoVa, so it was easy to convince myself not to make the drive at that point. You’re right, I’m weak.

Caps in B-more
Good to see yall out in B-more. Next time we gotta pick a bar with some gameday specials (Hudson Street Stackhouse?), I’ll go broke drinking at disneyworld…
My email’s in my profile, hit me up anytime you want to watch a game in town, I’m typically at Hudson Street.
Hudson Street Stackhouse is a fantastic place for Caps games in B-more.

Pens Game?
How about a Baltimore viewing party for the 3/24 Pens game? Was hoping to go to the game while in town on biz, but ouch! $200 for a pair of nose bleeds? No thanks…
