Warning for the Winter Classic. We got to Heinz field early and got in line to go in about 45 minutes before puck drop. They only had one gate open and we didn’t actually get in until the end of the first period. The pat down line was pathetic. I hope they are prepared tomorrow when 57,000 more fans come in!

Katie has a write up of the game.

Goal scorers for the former Capitals were Alan May, Paul Mulvey, Mark Lofthouse, Mulvey a second time and finally Bondra on a shot after the puck popped out to the slot. “I feel like somebody just served up a cookie for me,” Bondra said, laughing, about the goal. “Puck was laying there and I just shot it I closed my eyes – I think I hit the corner.”

I hope someone gets a few minutes to get Labre’s take on it. He loves to talk and I’m sure has some good stories about today.

I remember getting Labre’s autograph vividly. I had three things I wanted signed, they had a two item limit, so I was putting one kind of away while he signed the other two, as a lady behind him kept saying “Two items per person!” and he grabbed it from me, blew a raspberry at the gal, and signed it. Personality is hilarious.
