Happy Boxing Day Canada, here’s your Moment of Zen.
"So if I drank a bottle of rum (not really, it was about 2/3 of a bottle) starting at 1p and continuing through the Caps game does that mean I need to do that every Caps game from here on?"
"I would, but I’d also get yourself onto the organ transfer list as well just in case."
From the Kuznutz interview, “as far as his talent goes, Kuznetsov is a second Malkin.”
That put a smile on my face.
And inconsistency.
The guy is Peter Schumpmaker. Lord knows what a schump is, but you can bet your bippy his ancestors made them. What he's doing is far worse than crafting fine schumps.

Even at the high point in his career to date, the guy’s making a goofy face. Does he ever look normal?

EK – …During the warm-ups when we were playing in Chekhov, Vityaz’s tough guys started posturing in front of our bench, saying what they are going to do to us.
YG – Were you scared?
EK – No. It looked to me like they were mostly just talking. What would be the point for Gratton, Sugden, or Verot to fight me?
It’s a small world…

Poor, naive Evgeny – presupposing that there’s a purpose in all hockey fights.

Also, a quick PR tip for Evgeny, and for anyone else who might find themselves in a similar situation:
If you are ever a Russian hockey player who was drafted by an NHL team that already has the best Russian hockey player in the world on its roster, and someone asks you “Who is the best player in the world today?”…
…don’t name a different Russian hockey player.

How many Russian hockey players are having a better year than Ovi? Datsyuk is now injured. And Malkin has dealt with injuries this year as well. Semin’s outscored Ovi in goals but has been dogged by illness and injuries this month.

Hmm, could be a somewhat quiet arena tonight in Raleigh. Or not. We’ll see.
VogsCaps Canes have announced game will be played as scheduled but tix for tonight’s tilt may be exchanged for one later in season as well.

Carolinians dealing with snow make Washingtonians look like accomplished, oh-so-cool and calm professionals. My sister-in-law called today and said it’s utter madness down there.
Pledge Drive 2010-2011: SO KIDS CAN!! Help build a playground
I was in North Carolina for two years, and it cracked me up when it snowed. They simply don’t know how to drive in even 2 inches of snow. Like driving a sports car on packed snow…. not a good idea. Unless running off the road into a snow bank sounds like fun.
There is no problem a hammer cannot either fix or make irrelevant.
haha, it’s very true. When it snowed a week or two ago, all the schools closed for two days. (There was about an inch of snow, and a little freezing rain.)
Well, the freezing rain isn’t exactly the best precipitation to get. Especially if it keeps refreezing overnight for a few days.
Theres also presumably alot of back roads that the plows cant get to. Like it is down here in St. Mary’s County.
We didn’t get to exchange our tickets for the Snowvechkin games last year. But then again, there are no games available for full STH’s to exchange. But a credit on next year’s tickets (or the next monthly installment payment) would have been nice. (I know, it would have been hard to do but….)

A good 8+ inches here in Raleigh. Should be interesting to see how many fans show up.

Plenty of rest, hot hand. He deserves it right now. Maybe good for Varly to get a little break as it is.

O dear. Grubauer having an awful start to the tourney. 3-0 Switzerland and it’s early yet.
You perhaps knew me better as "Your Nation's Capital." Same great commentary, now with 100% more transparency!
It’s 4-0 now and Germany makes a goalie change. I’m not watching the game but people that are says that Grubauer wasn’t the problem. It was more due to the fact that GER isn’t a very good team and some great plays from Nino Niederrreiter.
For me Peter Forsberg is not just my favorite hockey player he is the reason I fell in love with hockey.
Of course we need to send someone down to Carolina to provide it. Only problem — getting there!
Here’s to remote transmission of cowbell.
(On a serious note on our PP, Ovi has NOT scored a PP goal at VC yet.)

Another game on CSN+! I am so sick of Verizon not allowing those of us to get this channel! I’m tired of having to watch games online! Grrr!
In Arlington, csn+HD is channel 856, but the TiVo channel guide lists that as “null”. So won’t show the listings. Anyone know how to get TiVo to record on that channel remotely via TiVo.com?

Does anyone have dish network know if the channel 450 feed of the game will be blacked out? When I tried the other feed to set it up to record it said that message that due to marketing restrictions the game was blacked out…but that channel didn’t say so…I have never been able to get CSN+ games, but my dad isn’t the best with the TV and might never have checked the sports alt channels….
I like Laich, but I <3 Green
Keep the faith!!!!!!
According to the CSN finder on the Caps site, it is on channel 444 (SD only) for DISH Network in the Fairfax area. I’m not home yet to confirm that…and I also couldn’t find it with DISH remote access. Suck…another non-HD game!

Just got home and the CSN Finder is wrong. The DISH menu shows the game on channel 450 – minus a pregame show.

I’m sure that was well rec’eived. Props to Fehr for ponying up the international postage.
Also, a question for you, even if it’s a bit OT. Do Swedes really watch Kalle Anka (Donald Duck) every year on Christmas?
Oh, and a belated ‘God Jul’ to you.
I applaud the adorable height difference.
(Yes, I know about the avatar hounding - just pretend mine is invisible.)
It almost follows the old cliche of the tall guy going with the small female. Different than a lot of the Caps. Erskine’s wife is actually tall, from what I can remember. I don’t know how tall David Steckel’s wife is but recall that she was a basketball player. And Ovi tends to date tall girls.
