He did not comment on any ongoing negotiations with players (like Semin) or strategy (like holes he wants to fill at the deadline), but opened up about a few things: - he was pissed at the refs after the Dallas game and texted the league - he got in a dig on Huet wanting more money an now playing in Europe - Flash was dealt because he never turned into the player they hoped he’d be (and he sucks in the playoffs) - he hates players saying things like they lacked motivation or energy in the third period ("we’re paying them to play hard") - "no deal is better than a bad deal, but we’ll make market value offers for players we want here" - DC is guaranteed a winter classic in 2 or 3 years - several players are not playing as well as they should be, specifically: 8 19 21 16 52 - they thought before season that 14, 85 or 90 could play 2C and believe one of the two who are left can fill that role
