I have always liked NCAA more since I was a kid. Michigan is my team. I know NFL to a degree but it never excites me as much as a good college football game

I poured spot remover on my dog. Now he's gone.

by Rather Bengt on Nov 14, 2010 5:12 PM EST up reply actions

True. The intensity is a lot higher in college football. And, yes, it does seem like every week there are at least several insane games. Although there was one today in Jacksonville where the Jags won on a hail mary with 3 seconds left.

by rachel216 on Nov 14, 2010 5:15 PM EST up reply actions

Awesome..I love the last minute heave ho to the end zone. Though I remember as a teen Michigan lost on TWO hail marys in consecutive years—it was heartbreaking. lol

I poured spot remover on my dog. Now he's gone.

by Rather Bengt on Nov 14, 2010 5:16 PM EST up reply actions

It was insane, a Texan defender actually batted the ball right into the hands of a Jag receiver. Yup, heartbreaking for the team it’s against because it’s pretty much all luck.

We had to deal with Westbrook being a punk here in DC for years.

Aim for the head baby Jesus

by Doncosmic on Nov 14, 2010 5:22 PM EST up reply actions

I disagree about the intensity…the emotion of the crowd and each game means a whole lot more but so many kids coming up from college just can’t get used to the “speed and intensity” of the NFL. It’s the fans and the fact that if you lose even one game you may be out of the national title race that makes it so exciting in my book.

Everything ends badly...otherwise it wouldn't end.

by Davethecapsfan on Nov 14, 2010 5:16 PM EST up reply actions

That’s true, I don’t like the no playoff system. Dave, btw, Favre was a turnover machine today. Just sayin’.

by rachel216 on Nov 14, 2010 5:19 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah I saw only part of the game. Every time I turned it on Peterson was getting stuffed. 51 yards on 17 carries? Not good enough, Favre had to force it all day. The O line and D line haven’t been nearly as good as they were last year for the Vikes. Lacking a 100% Harvin and the rest of the wideouts (sans Moss now) not doing much all year he’s been set up to fail.

Everything ends badly...otherwise it wouldn't end.

by Davethecapsfan on Nov 14, 2010 5:21 PM EST up reply actions

Excuses! You just don’t want to admit he should just retire. Haha, jk. I agree, he doesn’t have a great core around him. Chicago’s run D is tough so it’s not surprising Peterson didn’t have a big day. But still, how is Chicago winning? Jay Cutler is awful.

by rachel216 on Nov 14, 2010 5:24 PM EST up reply actions

They’re winning with the same defense that got me 12 fantasy points this week.

"Don't mind WM...he's an all-around jerk."

by Whiter Mage on Nov 14, 2010 5:25 PM EST up reply actions

If you had told him that Berrian would suck this year, Harvin would be not 100% the entire season, and that Rice would decide to get his hip or whatever fixed right after he said he’d come back I guarantee you there’s no way he would have came back. Set up for failure from the jump.

Everything ends badly...otherwise it wouldn't end.

Cutler is great and terrible at the same time. He had 3 touchdown passes today. I know people see a couple of turnovers and decide that QB sucks, but that’s part of their mentality. It’s feast or famine. They take chances and sometimes it goes bad, a good bit of the time they look tremendous.

Everything ends badly...otherwise it wouldn't end.

by Davethecapsfan on Nov 14, 2010 5:26 PM EST up reply actions

I’d rather have a QB that’s smart and doesn’t cost his team games. I have seen Cutler play very well before (this year against Dallas) and I’ve seen how awful he can be (against ’Skins) but he is just too risky for my liking.

by rachel216 on Nov 14, 2010 5:28 PM EST up reply actions

by Doncosmic on Nov 14, 2010 5:36 PM EST up reply actions

Irrelevant. McNabb’s been mediocre, and for what he wants to be paid, he should be more than that regardless of offensive line.

"Don't mind WM...he's an all-around jerk."

by Whiter Mage on Nov 14, 2010 5:37 PM EST up reply actions

Agree. Let’s hope tomorrow night he has a 3+ touchdown game, and shows everybody.

by rachel216 on Nov 14, 2010 5:45 PM EST up reply actions

His offensive line has also been terrible this year. Can’t be discounted when considering those turnovers. Deangelo Hall also had a ridiculous game that day. Both Cutler and Favre have been hurt by their receivers not helping them out much either. Percy Harvin at least 3 times has tipped a ball up that should have been a catch (2 of them inside the 5 no less) and into the arms of a defender.

Sometimes it’s not all on the QB.

Everything ends badly...otherwise it wouldn't end.

sterling work by varly in hershey

he stopped both shots he faced in the first period!

oddly, the ahl website says binghamton hasn’t pulled their goalie. after 6 goals in one frame

by j762 on Nov 14, 2010 5:47 PM EST reply actions

Well I’m sure he wants a little more work haha

They don’t really have another goalie. Whoever else thay had is hurt; they signed someone on an emergency basis, he’s never played one AHL minute.

seems to still be the better option at this point!

at the very least, the current guy in has got to be positively crushed.

by j762 on Nov 14, 2010 5:49 PM EST up reply actions

I’m guessing Varly’s not in too much danger of getting hurt at the rate of 2 shots a period. Then again, it is Varly…

by fat_daddyo on Nov 14, 2010 5:56 PM EST up reply actions

It was because of Avery, but Avery was already being escorted to the locker room with two Oilers trying to get at him around the ref. Other Oilers continued to take exception and went after the bench.
