The Avs traded for Ryan O'Byrne today in exchange for prospect Michael Bournival. In the post on Mile High Hockey, there's one post about how O'Byrne is like a cheaper Scott Hannan. I don't know if that's a viable comparison, but I know there's been discussion on the Rink that Hannan would be an option for a D-man trade for the Caps. With the O'Byrne trade, maybe the Avs might deem Hannan expendable. I want to gauge feedback on whether or not people here think he'd be someone to go after. He's got a $4.5 million cap hit for this year, so that might be an issue.
