Here's video of Mike Green's elbow to Michael Frolik's head. I don't think that Green will be suspended especially considering his track record and the recent Sergei Gonchar ruling but it was a very dirty hit.

He's lucky that Frolik didn't end up convulsing like Mikael Tam so the outcry will likely be a lot less.

from just this viewing, i can’t disagree with either ray ferraro (that these types of hits should result in longer suspensions than 2 games) or PPP (that there likely won’t be a suspension at all). but i didn’t get to watch live, so i’ll defer to others.

Honestly I thought the context of getting dropped made this a no-brainer penalty, and I thought after seeing this it appears as more a retribution for getting hit. Considering Richards’ on-ice penalty at the time, it wouldn’t surprise me if he got two games, which he’d very well need to ice that leg that got hit later.

Gooch and Richards got majors, whereas Green got a minor. That’s the only reason where I could see why they’d sit Green, but I’m only speculating.

There are a lot of hits that are worse that have gone without suspension this year (Ruutu, Koci, Kozlov).
