As a general rule I don’t travel to the Vag unless it’s to eat at Ray’s or to go to Costo… but this may be exception #3.

Random, slightly related fact of the day:
I have been to Maryland (as in, that was my final destination) twice, I’ve lived in VA ten years.
Matt Bradley is my fµcking hero, I mean he was before, but now he’s like double or something.
does Bethesda count as MD? I tend to think not

I live in VA, too. I only really go to MD for Dave & Busters, haha.
Even if I WANTED to ever visit virginia I don’t thin I ever could. For some reason, no matter what time of day.. the DC beltway just west of the 270 seems to always have 238754095439745903 vehicles stuck in the lanes just parked. Can’t we just tow all these people so everyone can get through who actually WANTS to drive more than 0.00000001 mph?
I grew up in MD (Baltimore suburb) and now have lived in northern VA for the past 10 or so years — it really does amaze me how much of a divide there can be, but as bad as traffic is, why would anyone ever want to travel even that far?!?

All I know is that from my nice ’lil burb in HoCo, I live the same distance as my coworker from Manassass…I get home an hour before she does. (Of course if you live in MoCo and work in the city you might as well move to NoVa cause your commute blows too.)
Does it really require two ass’?
Matt Bradley is my fµcking hero, I mean he was before, but now he’s like double or something.
I live pretty near there. Parts of it are shit, but also there are nice, elitist neighborhoods too.
At least it isn’t Dale City!

It's in Woodbridge,
which also sucks.

IKEA does not make up for the general horribleness. Though it does help.

we’re going to get there, pens fans are going to want to talk smack, and we’re going to ignore them to carry on this MD-VA rivalry convo.

I will settle this debate.
DC is better than MD and VA. Actually thinking back, my entire life as a district resident hasn’t gotten me much. BUT, if it helps at all DC will be inheriting the Pentagon City Costco soon (it’s moving to NE near the Home Despot).
"Hey, atta dinnin stick a who!"
Wait, what? I’m losing my Costco?

I have seen no indications that the Pentagon City location is closing. Plus why would they, theere are plenty of potential customers in dc and arlington to support both, I doubt that many district residents currently go to the pentagon one, and I KNOW not many people from arlington or alexandria would go to on in the city

IKEA does not make up for the general horribleness. Though it does help.
I disagree. IKEA is simply a ploy by Sweeden to take over the world by trying to get every one of us 300 million americans lost somewhere between the bedding and office sections. When they finally round every one of us.. that’s when Sweeden will finally strike.
If, in the rarest of occasions, an American actually happens to escape by finding what they want and bringing it home, these Sweeds have developed an ingenious system of somehow making a single pencil holder take up 5 different boxes, so when you get home, you realize you need to actually go all the way back to for the box with the hieroglyphic shaped screws… only to go back through the entire system.
Damn those Sweeds! Maybe they WILL win the gold next month, after all
I live in Dale City. It’s fine. You want elitists, go to “Montclair”.
Yeah, there’s 5 different “Towns” in Woodbridge, and only Montclair refuses to admit it.

That photo pisses me off. Mainly because I seem to recall Sid taking forever to bother with the handshakes. Or maybe that is just my selective memory?
Anyway, still thinking about attending. Taking y’all’s word for it that Bailey’s food/service/atmosphere no longer sucks. :)
Oh no, the food still sucks. Beer is good. Service was fine. All the Rink Rats & Rabbits made for awesome atmosphere last time so I’m hoping for the same this time. :)
you have to show up because we need to numbers. No way should a bunch of Pittsburgh fans come anywhere close to dominating this party.

Does Bailey’s allow smoking in the room where the viewing party is being held? Not sure if they are one of the bars that managed to get away with it because of the whole separate room with separate ventilation section thing.
No, I think it’s completely smoke-free.

Pretzels. Pretzels are reasonably priced and tasty. I’d skip every other solid comestible.

Pretty sure I’ll be there as I have off on Friday. Hell yeah for a three day work week.

Why that pic of all the possible pics? Why not this one?

Seriously… I will be disappointed if the whole party doesn’t get kicked out for being too raucous.
I’m gonna let St. Patrick and St. Michael do my talking for me!

I’ll be disappointed if it gets out of hand. Serious. After the last event at Bailey’s, the staff was pretty cool, and I heard they’re buying Caps stuff not. I don’t want to ruin any reputation we already have there.

I meant my “Seriously” in regard to the picture… screw the friendly stuff, let’s get fired up! But in terms of actually dropping gloves with Pens fans, that was in jest.
But if one of ’em looks at me funny…
PS- you are a part of the Erksine lobby? Is this like… a special club where you eat glue and make turkeys by outlining your hand on a piece of paper?

I’m pretty sure I am the Erskine lobby. Usually, I play NHL 10 and listen to opera.

I’m all peace and love, I’d never want to get in a physical altercation with anyone (especially over something like a game). But that being sad, Pens fans just bring me down.
There was this one time in high school my basketball team was in a really close game. We were up by 1 with seconds to go and the opposing team had the ball. It was tense! Unfortunately, the excitement was too much for one student and they went into an epileptic seizure. They ended up being ok, but the school understandably called the game at the time.
It brought me down.
Pens fans are like epileptic high school kids that, perhaps through no fault of their own, ruin everything.

I’ve never been to a game at VC against the Penguins. Are their fans as bad as the thuggy ass flyer fans?
You’d think that despite the general scrubiness of the guido-esque people from Philly, that we could all at least find peace and harmony and unite ourselves for our common contempt for Crosby
Ballston.
I’m super ready for this.

Looking forward to seeing everyone tonight!!!
I’ll be the one in the Capitals jersey, make sure to say hello!!! :)
Dang
I’ll be hosting an open mic at the comedy spot upstairs! Maybe I can sneak out at some point to check out the scene at Bailey’s.
And for the record, you MD people who don’t drive to VA suck. (and vice versa). That’s what the beltway is for, friends.
