Japers' Rink Ranked Top NHL Blog By Sports Media Challenge
Each year the Sports Media Challenge puts together a regular index of the Top NHL Blogs using "our proprietary algorithm of more than 10 key variables." The main criteria are Content, Community, and Influence. This year, SMC ranked Japers' Rink 1st overall in the NHL sports blogosphere. See the list of the top ten here. A hearty thank you to our wonderful Community! Also, nine of these top 10 NHL blogs are SB Nation affiliates, so congrats to our SBN compatriots too. Well deserved. Now back to your regularly-scheduled programming.

L.M.A.O. “Author of If God Loves Me, Why Can’t I Get My Locker Open?” That’s priceless.
I have a C on my heart.
I think I may have actually come across this book at some point…my mom is our church’s librarian.

A well-deserved honor. But to be fair, it’s worth pointing out that Abel to Yzerman placed fourth on this list…
It's actually Xetterberg
We just had it translated to work better with english.
I’m kidding, I think.
well done!
this is a sweet blog, after all. almost a 2nd home to me now :P

GO CANUCKS GO!
Influence as a part of the criteria eh? It must be all those souls whom the rink has enlightened on the topic of one Jeff Schultz.
In all seriousness though, well done and congratulations JP and company!

Awesome news! Congrats. I have to say that I have abandoned almost every hockey site I used to visit after getting sucked into the wonderfulness of the Rink. Other sites have a hard time measuring up to this place.
I only read Peerless when I want to be informed and entertained.
Japers' Rink: Hockey blogging from the most powerful city in the world
Don’t get me wrong. I love Peerless. Blame the overlords at work for keeping me from his hockey goodness on a more regular basis.
Google Reader is my best friend for this reason alone – allows me to read the awesome Peerless while I should be working during lunch.
I only read The Peerless because, well… I write it.

Do you read it in one of your other personalities?

Thanks, all. I know I speak for Pepper, David, Becca and Tuvan when I say we would be nothing without you guys.

Nah. We’re all just picking up second assists because of your awesomeness.
Now let's say you and I go toe to toe on bird law and see who comes out the victor.

Congratulations all. It was a lot of hard work that earned this. And today’s an appropriate day for this honor, given all of the great writing that has been posted.
Atta dinnin stick a who!
It was a lot of hard work that earned this.
The quantity and quality of content on this thing is pretty damn impressive, especially considering that these guys apparently have jobs out there in the real world.
Aye, that we do (though I had today off).

No kidding. Thanks to them for not announcing this on a “Clips and nothin’” day.

And I apologize if the title of the Fanpost that’s hanging out there on the right is a source of consternation, what with new folks checking the place out on the strength of this award. Feel free to change it if you want, JP.

I see that Pensburgh is #5. I still don’t get why that blog doesn’t attract a higher number of commentors. Its definitely better than Pensblog or any of the other Pens blogs I’ve visited.

Congrats & well deserved
Not only are we spoiled by the high performance Washington Capitals, but the local blogosphere is equally impressive. Each day, I read Japers, OFB and Peerless.
You are all “true class acts”. Thanks for making my life as a fan more enjoyable and significantly adding to my hockey knowledge base.

Great to see the recog for other SBN blogs – truly deserving winners!

What, no obligatory "I couldn't have done this without you Rinkrats" speech?
WE HAD HOPES FOR YOU, JP.
