Would have been funnier if one of the players got sucked into that jet engine they’re skating in front of.
You mean one of the flyers players… Right

Stone cold awesome.
I love this commercial for two three reasons:
1. Nicky is wearing the hat my brother got me for xmas, and
2. They filmed on Dec. 4, which meant Ovie was still officially ‘suspended’ by the League, and
3. Caps curbstomped the Flyers 8-2 the very next night, with AO in the pressbox.
Props to the ad agency that came up with the concept. Well done!

If “curbstomped” is the movie reference I think it is, I get a cold shiver every time I think of that. Thanks.
DC, where Hockey is a baffling ordeal.

This ad was just funny as hell, but it needs more Brooksie – is it Laich skating D with Green?
Unleash the Alex!
Great Ad
…and not just because OV beats Emery by putting the puck into the ’dozer.
They had to be careful to make sure that Laich didn’t accidentally skate into the plane, since it’s hard to get replacement parts to the plane when the airport is iced over.
Hartnell has the deer in the headlights look from watching OV, Green, Backstrom and Laich skate…you’d think only goalies did that…
Let's go Caps!
I’ll be interested to see the promised behind-the-scenes video on this. I’m guessing there’s a fair amount of green screen work in this. Otherwise, the insurance cost would kill this commercial.
"The Caps fan doesn't say, 'is the glass half full' or 'is the glass half empty'. He wonders when the glass is going to spill."
Nate said the ice part was filmed at a “Flyers practice rink”, so we’ll go out on a limb and say it was here:

Dunno how they wedged a 747 in there, tho.

That is wonderful. Great concept, great production, even good performances from non-actors (I guess that comes of having a great concept that doesn’t require much more than a couple of speculatively raised eyebrows…). Gorgeous.
"Camaraderie, that's what the Washington Capitals are all about."
