And Hershey camp starts on Monday right? Can’t say there are any surprises in there.

I’m a little surprised we didn’t get to see Gustafsson in at least one more preseason game.

The WSH ethic of late has been: Earn it. Whether you’re a young D or something else, you don’t get anything based on your draft position, including exhibition games…

I love that kind of ethic. Making decisions based on politics isn’t wise.

Agreed. And it produces better players.

How exactly did Angus get drafted?

Yeah. You generally don’t want first-rounders to be beyond-their-entry-level-deal projects.

He got less ice than even Finley in that first game. BB didn’t look too impressed with him, I’m not shocked at all.

Has Broda been signed, then? Or am I thinking of the wrong WHL kid who doesn’t yet have a pro contract, but still has one more year of Junior eligibility?
Or am I assuming too much that Broda’s been cut because Hershey camp is starting?

Broda has not yet been signed. In all likelihood, he’s headed back to the WHL.

Interesting note from KPD:
If the Capitals can’t find space on the varsity roster, they’ve told Christopher Bourque that they’ll try to find him a new NHL port of call rather than dish the ex-BU winger back to Hershey (AHL).

Via Tarik’s Twitter:
Chris Bourque, btw, denied a story in today’s Boston Globe suggesting he’s been told he’ll be traded if he doesn’t make the Caps’ roster.

1.) Who ya gonna believe, Kevin Paul Dupont or TEB?
2.) What’s Bourque going to say when asked, “Yes?”
3.) It’s more likely a team-agent conversation than a team-player conversation, so it’s likely that Bourque hasn’t been told that. Ahem.

You mean, a rumor that Eklund didn’t have?
I…I…I’m so disappointed!

Well I’m still rooting for Finley, Bruess and Hauswirth to make the team in Hershey….The issue with Bourque is what are the odds of him clearing waivers? I’d say slim so isn’t that a reason to trade him vice try and send him to Hershey if you’re GMGM this way you get something for him you might want….

I sure hope everything breakable in the locker room was nailed down when they told Finley he was being reassigned… ;-)
Actually, none of the names on the list are a surprise, and it looks like Hershey and South Carolina will have lots of quality talent to defend their championships with…
Let's go Caps!

I wouldn’t worry about it — lawnmowers have been banned from locker rooms for years.

I would be amazed if someone didn’t leave a toy lawnmower in Finley’s locker sometime in camp.

ah, now that Kessel has been traded, the rabid Boston media must be fed with a new story….
