Best of luck to him. I liked him when he was up and would have liked to see him get more of a shot with the big club. But, ah well.

He’s a classic AAAA player. Too good for the AHL, not quite good enough for the NHL. Would be an NHL regular if the NHL had 32 teams, probably. If Calgary doesn’t work out, he should consider the KHL…

Interesting point about the KHL…
Is there anywhere to look at the number of North American players like Kronwall that have made the jump across the pond?

I have to wonder if maybe he just won’t go back to Swedish Elite at some point. Its got to be hard bouncing around the minors in countries so far from home.

He’d probably make more money in the KHL, and it is the equivalent of a AAAA league. It’s better than the AHL, but certainly not up to the NHL’s level. Plus, due to the distances, the teams fly everywhere in the KHL. I can’t imagine how much fun bus rides in the Swedish Elite League are all winter long…

Promote the game, it's the NHL, not SCHL

Wasn’t he unrestricted?

Thanks for helping Hershey win the Calder Cup!

He was a ticking time bomb mentally at the NHL level. No thanks to anyone who might crumble after having one bad shift. Wouldn’t expect that from a Swede, who always seem pretty even-keeled to me.
But good luck to him. I hope he sticks somewhere.

He’ll find somewhere to stick. Damn, I was hoping he’d stick around here.

I’m not angry at him. Him sticking with the Caps was pretty effing long….there’s a long list of guys in front of him, including other in betweeners like Sloan.

Oh, I agree, I just put him ahead of Sloan on my depth chart. I think he’ll be a 5-6 guy in Calgary, maybe.
