Hershey announces their new head coach
As rumored, Mark French gets the nod.
Mark French, assistant coach during the Hershey Bears' Calder Cup run during 2008-09, was promoted to head coach to succeed Bob Woods Monday.
Troy Mann, who played for Washington Capitals head coach Bruce Boudreau with Mississippi of the ECHL, has been named Hershey's assistant coach. Mann served as associate coach of the ECHL's Charlotte Checkers last season, and he was head coach of the ECHL's Columbia Inferno from 2006-08.
French, 38, has served as Hershey's assistant coach since January of 2008. He previously was head coach of the CHL's Wichita Thunder (2005-07).
French becomes the 23rd head coach in Hershey history.
Mann also was a teammate of Woods in Mississippi.

YNC – this would be better as a FanShot than as a FanPost. The Welcome Guide does a good job of detailing the difference between the two.

Oopsie.
I thought that might be the case. If you can move it, I’d be much obliged. If not, I will strive to do better next time.
I can’t move it, so strive away. :)

One thing I really like about this is that loyalty breeds loyalty. You’d have to think that the Caps can entice a pretty good young coach to Carolina by demonstrating the way the treadmill works its way upwards. If you get good people and you give them opportunity to grow, then you’ll get more good people. This kind of thing gets noticed.
