"The leading scorer in the AHL regular season and playoffs, Alexandre Giroux should be able to make the squad in 2009-10 and will be given an opportunity to take over the No. 2 center role – if he re-signs with the team as expected."

I don’t know, it sounds to me like he’s saying that. At no point does he ever discuss anything other than a second line center and if he suddenly goes from discussing Laich at center to Clark at wing with no segue it’s one hell of a non-sequitur.
Gotcha – I thought Yoshie was referring to the quote above when he was referring to something in the link. My bad – the fail was all mine.

Internally, the Caps have Brooks Laich, who filled in admirably for Fedorov when he was injured this season. Chris Clark will be around for the full campaign barring another injury, though his scoring ability is marginal at best and not really what you look for in a second-liner.
this is the perfect illustration of why sports blogs have the edge over MSM on real roster analysis. one guy has basically a day to write an article summarizing the needs of all SE division teams. he takes a look at the caps roster…takes on look at hershey’s roster…voila, an interesting tidbit for my 12pm deadline!
