When I was reading your article on Varly, Tuvan, I was thinking of this. You beat me to posting it! I was struck by Dmitry’s demeanor when discussing this, almost like Varly has to sit out game 5.

tuvan didn’t say that Mr. Chesnokov was engaging in rumor spreading, rather than his statements (that he’s worried stamina will become an issue for Varlamov) could lead to a rumor cropping up by people who exaggerate them or take them out of context. And no one mentioned anything about Mr. Malmud or any other story but you.

Spot on, DMG. I never intended to make it sound like Dmitry would start rumors, I know he is a professional and he is stating his expert opinion. But rumors start when other people take someone’s opinions and turn it into “the sky is falling” type of news. Mass hysteria!
And BTW, I personally actually agree with Dmitry’s assessment.

the old host was a lot better…..

I was a little worried about Varly getting tired, but can’t envision a scenario where they don’t play him in 4 and 5.
