Mike Wise said that there is definitely interest in Brashear in Russia, and he wouldn’t be surprised if Brash took their offer.

No income tax means a lot more money in Brash’s bank account. I can’t see the caps bringing him back at 1.2 million, but even if dollar for dollar the Caps offered the same amount as the KHL, Brash would be better off financially in the KHL.

This also may have been his motivation for learning Russian over the past couple of seasons…
