Mike Brown hit on Jiri Hudler
Time to man up, Colin. If Brashear's hit is illegal, and worth a five game suspension, this hit by Mike Brown on Hudler needs to be similarly punished. I know it won't be as long as Brash's suspension, because of the 5 minute major + Game Misconduct issued, but with the circumstances that it is, it's time that the league does something right - give Brown a 5 game suspension, or the point of suspending Brashear for five is lost on everyone.

The hit by brown is really not the same hit as from Brash. First, this one happened more quickly upon the release of the puck. Secondly, Brown didn’t change direction after the puck was released to make the hit, he was already moving to make the check while Hudler had the puck.
On the other hand, Brown is coming from behind Hudler, making Hudler more in a unsuspecting and helpless position than Betts was in. Also, coming from behind like that, in order to keep that check to the front of Hudler, Brown definitely made directed his contact to the head. And most definitely led with an elbow and not a shoulder.
Definitely not the same hit, but a suspension should be in order. The hit wasn’t late, but it was illegal. And for the life of me I can’t understand why the penalty called in the game should have any bearing upon the suspension, although I know it does.

Hey, WM – great topic for a FanShot, but next time you might want to use the video FanShot so that everyone could see it right here. Just a thought.
Japers' Rink: Hockey blogging from the most powerful city in the world
I thought about that, but couldn’t find an embed link(Wasn’t 100% sure on how to do it) and was in a hurry. Will figure it out in the future.
I'm so sick and tired of the refs explaining the calls like this is the NFL.
not 100% sure about this, but i think you can still change fanshots after you post them. HTML embed code is on the right side of the YouTube page underneath the URL code. copy, paste, voila! i’m easily impressed, but the ability to add a red frame around the video (once you clicked on the HTML text) is also pretty sweet.
