Predictions for the series?

I’ve got Wings in 5.

Yeah my heart wants to hope Chicago can give them a battle….But then I realize I just read on Puck Daddy that the Blackhawks have three players in the lineup (Khabibulin, Pahlsson and Campbell) that were born in the 1970’s and everyone else was born in the ’80s.

In my bracket I have wings in 6 and canes in 6.

by zephyr on May 17, 2009 2:40 PM EDT up reply actions

I would say that but CHI has made it look much easier against CGY and VAN than I expected. Wings in 6.

by Rob Parker on May 17, 2009 3:52 PM EDT up reply actions

Wings in 4. Yea, I said it.

by ninefttall on May 17, 2009 1:34 PM EDT reply actions

Oh, and Khabibulin will be yanked at some point in this series.

by ninefttall on May 17, 2009 1:35 PM EDT reply actions

Did I say “for those watching…”? Apparently not if you read the WaPo.

????

an open thread for a wings/hawks game? with all due respect, because i enjoy reading your blog, because its a CAPS blog, but who gives a fuck?

whats next, an open thread for tomorrows game between our division rival and our arch nemesis that just crushed our hearts?

wait, actually, dont answer that.

keep up the good (caps related) work

by ovechrist on May 17, 2009 3:25 PM EDT reply actions

Don’t pull that “with all due respect” crap and follow it with what you followed it with.

why is it crap? because i used the f word, its not like i did or ever would say f-you. If i said heck, it would have all been cool? i think were all smart enough here to realize there was no animosity directed at anyone but rather a bitter caps fan (me) who feels like one of his parents is dating again two days after the divorce, and says to himself “what the fuck”.
I do have a lot of respect for the time and effort you put in to your work here and i enjoy it very much, but i guess you missed the point. I just dont want to see this turn into a puckdaddy type blog where you try to be all things to all people. maybe theres a reason he doesnt do a devils blog (besides the money).
Anyway sorry if i offended you but my intent was only to make you question why you did it in the first place, and it seems to have worked seeing as how you moved it to the sidebar. although thats fine if you dont want to give me the satisfaction, at least i dont have to think about all the other teams that are still playing the second i click on your site.

dmg- i LOVE hockey, so much so that im still pissed off about the fact that the ONLY team I care anything about at all just got crushed by our arch rivals in the most depressing 3 hours of hockey ive ever witnessed. soooooo. . . . . you might say that im not exactly excited about the rest of the playoffs. yea i know ‘get over it’

by ovechrist on May 18, 2009 4:08 PM EDT up reply actions

If you don’t want to talk about it then fine, don’t click the link. There are some people that just want to talk hockey and really appreciate the idea.

Call it a hunch or even a wild guess, but I would think there’s probably an overlap between Capitals fans and hockey fans.

by David Getz on May 17, 2009 5:17 PM EDT up reply actions

Probably won’t happen, but I’m hoping against hope that the finals is Hawks-Canes, and Hawks win the Cup. Better them than any of the other 4 :)

I need 100% of you guys to give 110% 100% of the time.

by capsfan4life on May 17, 2009 3:30 PM EDT reply actions

I definitely agree with you but I don’t think it’s happening. I’m rooting DET all the way since they have the best chance at beating PIT. Hossa with the series clinching goal would be nice.

by Rob Parker on May 17, 2009 3:55 PM EDT up reply actions

That would be a thing of beauty.

At least no matter how the CFs shake out the SCF is going to be played between two high skilled and fast teams. No trapping teams left.

by Rob Parker on May 17, 2009 3:54 PM EDT reply actions

Khabibulin is playing out of his mind.

by boutros23 on May 17, 2009 4:19 PM EDT reply actions

Yeah he looks pretty good. Wouldn’t say out of his mind though. A lot of these chances are happening because he isn’t controlling the puck.

Dammit. Dammit. Dammit. (sigh) Dammit.

I’d like to know how NBC defines “celebrity” for that show “I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here”. Is that the show the judge wouldn’t let Blogovich participate in?

Nice by Samuelsson. Wow.

by boutros23 on May 17, 2009 5:15 PM EDT reply actions

I wouldn’t mind if GMGM took a run at Samuelsson. We could use that type of player.

by Rob Parker on May 17, 2009 5:19 PM EDT up reply actions

I was just thinking that myself.

by boutros23 on May 17, 2009 5:20 PM EDT up reply actions

Pretty sweet. Blocks the shot with his foot, sticks with it and scores. Nice.
