The three-games-in-four-days from Games 3-5, however, is tough.

I’m happy (and surprised) that it looks like only one day game.
The 3 games in 4 cities includes travel after every game too. It’s not West-Coast level travel, but still.

Actually, only one trip in that stretch – after Game 4, which is the front-end of the back-to-back.

Excuse me, I was looking at the 4-5-6 stretch that’s still 3 games in 4 days (if necessary).

Right. Good call. Two potential three-in-fours. Duh.

Really crammed in there. WAS-PIT starts last, ends first.

Eh, other than Guerin and Feds, these are all kids. They can take it.

Layoff til Saturday definitely helps the Caps make up for the three extra days of rest the Penguins got.

Mike Green thanks the League.

Any guesses why he was so off last night? He looked tentative and out of place for most of the game…needless to say it wasn’t one of his better games and the Caps are gonna need him looking like himself to win round 2…
Some guys shine in the playoffs, others don’t. His playoff numbers that whole series weren’t anywhere near his regular season

Forget the numbers, his play wasn’t near where it was.
I maintain he’s hurt (and if I had to guess, I’d say oblique/ribs/abdominal), but I’m hoping I’m wrong and that it was just a flu bug or nerves – because those could be gone by Saturday.
Japers' Rink: Hockey blogging from the most powerful city in the world
I was talking about it the other night with a couple people…and the most plausible answer (if he’s hurt) seems to be his lower back…but that’s just speculation.
No matter what it is…flu, fatigue, hurt…the team needs him to find a way to be at his best…I won’t say he’s the most important Caps player coming into this series, but after Varls…IMO he’s either 1 or 1a.
My speculation is based on the aftermath of when Stamkos yanked him to the ice late in that throw away game against Tampa in late March. As Tarik wrote:
I just spoke with defenseman Mike Green, who was injured in the final minutes of last night’s game when he was pulled down by rookie Steven Stamkos. Green did not practice today, but said he hopes to take the morning skate tomorrow. At that time, he will decide whether he can face the ’Canes at RBC Center.
Green seemed to be moving okay. But he definitely is not "fine," as both he and Coach Bruce Boudreau said after the Caps’ 5-2 win. If I had to speculate, I would guess that he’s got an abdominal or oblique strain.

Green shined last year against the Flyers. 3 goals, 4 assists in 7 games ain’t too shabby. I agree with J.P. Something is bothering him physically right now.
