I don’t think it’s his PIM that upsets his teammates. There are a lot of guys that take PIM but are beloved by their teammates. The problem is that Avery thinks he’s better than his teammates. He takes a lot of selfish PIM, he has no control over his ego, he puts himself before the team, and he disrespects his teammates (especially D. Brown). I think in general his on the ice stuff can be excused (by teammates, except for selfish PIM) but all the sideshow crap gets old when the same guy is always doing stuff to say “look at me!”
