They posted the recap on NHL.com already…is it just me or do they speed everything up in the playoffs. Like, score updates within 5 secs? Recaps within 20 mins?
All their stats looked updated right after too. Which is awesome.

That reminded me of a shootout last year in which Dwayne Roloson and Olie were unbeatable through 11 rounds or something of a shootout, then Brads jumped off the bench and got the game-winner on forehand-backhand move. The Oilers were the best shootout team, I think finishing 11-1. Here he beat another top-end shootout goalie with a similar move.
speaking of backhand moves……AO with the backhand for once!

This season, I’ve eaten a Subway sub 5 times before a Caps game. In those Caps games, the Caps are 5-0, and have been dominant in every game, including two in the playoffs. I’m definitely eating Subway before/during Sunday’s game.
classy move by voros, shielding AO from sliding head first into the wall after his goal (also being a professional and getting out of the way as the caps players on the ice went nuts). just thought that should be mentioned.
I’m not as sure as you about that. I looked three times on highlights and it looked as if Voros didn’t do anything to shield Ovi. More like not to hit the wall with his own head. I’d be glad to be wrong though.
looks pretty clear to me that he keeps his arm around AO’s shoulder, then uses his other forearm to protect them both from the wall.

Definitely, Voros does slow down to make sure they both don’t plow into the wall head first, and I think he said something to Ovie afterwards that Ovie acknowledged… Voros is a professional. Once the whistle blows or the play ends, it ends…
Let's go Caps!

I still can’t believe Bradley scored 2 goals.
I loved that Bruce rested the top-guns in the 3rd period.
Matty came through!
Now who steps up next game?
I wish I could spend more than an hour being happy about this win before stressing about the next game.
Now who steps up next game?
Matt Bradley! As long as someone else is doing it, why does it have to be spread around?

I think Erskine and another fantastic game. I don’t think he deserved his double roughing call, and even so, he had to send a message with the Rangers taking runs at the guns and Brash in the box. His physical presence is clearly getting under the Ranger’s skin; he drew a couple of penalties that should have been called.

I VOTED FOR JURCINA IN THE MARCH 6th PICK ’EM.
erskine has been such a monster in this series. a restrained monster. i feel like i should get his jersey in penance or something.

Frankly, the whole defense now suddenly looks quite solid. Yeah, there’re holes once in a while here and there but looking back into, say, last month of the regular season, I didn’t have such a good feeling about the D. Maybe it’s because we’re playing inept Rags but still…
Don't forget
Mad props to Neuvy for his shut-out as well.

Not to take anything away from Ovie, but his goal was one of those times that I wish the second assist could be given out to someone who didn’t touch the puck, because Gordo definitely deserved a little credit with the traffic near Lundqvist on that one.
I find it interesting that only Fehr and Brash had less TOI than Kozlov. Flash’s TOI also took a tumble… so it seems like performance is finally matching the time given out by Gabby.
Finally, considering, the Rag’s flukey first goal came off a lost faceoff, it was good to see that every Cap with more than one draw was over 50% tonight.
Every time Kozlov tried to lean on someone it looked like he was skating on marbles. I’d like to think guys ice time came down because BB is going to practice what he preaches but I suspect it was just a way to give the grinders more time in a game that was not in doubt. He’ll go back to his old ways in game 6.
re: flash, my thoughts also. i’d hoped taking him off the first PP unit at the end of game 4 had some significance, but there he was at the beginning of game 5, turning over the puck on our very first power play.

3-1 to 3-3
Hey, JP, you know the percentage of teams have some back from 3-1 to win, but how many times has a team down 3-1 come back to TIE the series at 3?
uhh...uhh...uhh...
I was wondering the exact same thing last night. I have no clue – people don’t seem to care as much about that stat.

Well I know of at least two last year—us and Boston—and as of tonight another one this year I’m thinking—Flyers.
