I didn't want to take up space in the comments for this, so I'm posting the question here:
What is involved in the decision of when to pull the goalie? Last night we had a power play at the end of the game, and I kept thinking, why not pull the goalie during the power play? 6 on 4 should have really done pulled in a goal, no?
My fiance said it was too early. But at that point, you're as close to losing as can be, why not take advantage of the opportunity?
I'm still learning all the nuances of the game and how these sorts of decisions get made. (The world of coaching in hockey boggles my mind, too.)
