This is what happens when two people talk about something they know nothing about. (You could also say this is what happens when ESPN talks about hockey.) Feel free to stay clear.

Mike Golic sounds like Larry David’s agent on Curb Your Enthusiasm.
That gave me a chuckle.
As for the clip itself…meh…quite frankly I don’t think they said anything new, nor do I think they’re out of line. Do they know or understand hockey? Obviously not. Are they spitting blasphemy about the sport? I don’t think so.
It’s painfully clear that neither of them are fans…be it so. If I were a gambling man, I’d wager that a good number of their listeners aren’t fans yet either. Buuuuut, times are a changin. On the way to a game last week we walked to the VC with a woman who had never been to a hockey game in her life. What did she ask us about? That’s right the fighting. I have no idea if she was for it or against it, but that’s what she knew about hockey.
Bottom line after a long ramble…I’m of the philosophy that any news is good news….Mike & Mike apparently have a pretty good following…if they spend 2 minutes talking about hockey I think the sport is better for it.
That was my thought. Like the producers had given them 3 articles from each side of the debate that they skimmed over during the commercial break before hand. There is not a single bit of new/interesting information coming from either of those guys.
Mike: Well I think that hockey needs fighting because it helps to police the game.
Mike: Well I think that it hurts because new fans don’t get it and are turned off.
Mike & Mike: Good, its solved, now don’t send us any more emails asking for hockey conversation, there’s football to talk about.
