Tomas Vokoun doesn’t feel so bad now.

it’s a rarity in recent DC sports history: I can count on one finger—Riggins Counter Trey—that’s as sure a thing as 8.
[I hope Grapes threw up a little in his mouth when he read it, too.]
Byner Counter Trey was pretty good in the early 1990s too…

one day
i want Ovi to shoot and hit a goalie square in the chest, and have the momentum of the shot knock the goalie into the net for the score.
doesn’t have to be this game, just eventually…
It's been Done
A guy for the Mighty Ducks did that once, I believe his name was Fulton and it was a slapshot.

That really only happens in Wayne Gretzky 3D Hockey 98.
Time to find the N64…

Not likely to happen from Ovie… the problem is that you have tranfer the momentum from the puck to the goalie and still keep enough on the puck to cross the line. Going in at the chest would be very difficult as the center of mass is there.
What is likely to happen one day is that the Ovie will take a shot, the goalie will catch it in his catching glove, and the force of the shot will push the goalie’s forearm and glove into the net. That has happened a number of times in the NHL (Al Iafrate did it once when he was with Toronto, back when he had a full head of hair…)

There he goes blabbing the Caps whole game strategy to the media. Good thing he’s good at hockey, because he’d be a lousy spy.

Maybe that’s why Russia let him leave.

Reminds me of the line from Braveheart – “The Lord tells me he can get me out of this mess, but he’s pretty sure you’re f****d.”

Used to be a time where a fellow could lay a half goal and get some decent action. Shootouts are Satan’s work.
