The Official has done a short retrospective on Bob Gould. With my screen name, I would be remiss if I let this one slip by without a comment. Gould to me was everything a hockey player should be. He played with sandpaper, but he also produced some offense. He's best remembered now for a single punch, but I always saw him as part of the foundation of those mid-80s teams. You didn't think of him all that much while he played, but you really missed him when he was out. The one word I associate with Gould is "respect." He earned it from his teammates, opponents and fans. A class act.
