A New Arena for Hard-Core Sports Fans
The WaPo has a nice article on SB Nation that I managed to avoid getting mentioned in. Check it out.

Here are a few pics from the event, too (including some with me in ’em, and one with Wyshynski).

Was Markos Moulitsas there?
Or Tyler Bleszinski?

To my knowledge, neither was there. I’m certain Tyler wasn’t.

That’s so weird how you weren’t mentioned. I think the Post has something against you, seeing how you never get mentioned on the ‘Morning Reading List’ on Capitals Insider either….Its hard to miss Japers’ Rink when searching SBNation…

I think it’s more a symptom of the Post still giving the Capitals second class treatment than anything else.

Dont think the conspiracy translates here though. No doubt, TEB does not link to Japers’ out out of fear nobody will ever return (I certainly rarely go back there….).
However, this is not a sports piece, this is a ‘wired’ piece. I do not think the WaPo writer ran over to the sports department to fact check anything here….plus, she probably didnt realize the Caps have a large and computer savvy fanbase, probably moreso than the Wiz.

Yeah, no conspiracy here – just my inability to weasel my way into the piece.
And Tarik has linked here before.

Blog Roll
The Post’s Nats blog (Nationals Journal) is going to have a blog roll soon. No word on whether Caps Insider will follow suit, but if it does, I can’t envision a scenario in which JP does not appear.

And one pic with your blog projected on the wall (unfortunately with the ugly Ovi card featured prominently…).
Are there no female bloggers?

Yeah, this blog was featured art work… thankfully, there was nothing horrible on the front page (other than that Ovechkin card).
As for women, I’m not sure how many females there are writing on the SBN network, but that party was definitely a sausage-fest.

Way to represent, J.P.
Glad to see that SBN is buying some bloggers some beverages, even if it isn’t me.

Next time I’ll be sure to drink enough for both of us.

Was impressed to see Leonsis made an appearance. Not like it was a long walk from VC, but still. I’m continually amazed by the quality and efforts of the folks behind the scenes here at SBN. What a great, dedicated bunch.
Got to get ’em down to South Florida for one of these affairs.
Well done, Jon. But who picked out that tie?

Jeez, no mention of Japers’ in the Post and now you’re critiqued on your fashion sense, JP. You need to hire a publicist and a stylist, apparently.

I think I’m ok not fitting in with South Beach’s sense of style.
