Another beautiful Richard Zednik goal. Could he be the best former Cap in the League right now?

I’ll go with Gonchar…while I don’t think the fact that the Pens have crapped the bed this year is all due to him being injured, he’s definitely a HUGE part of their team

Agreed on Gonch, but he’s not in the Leauge right now. ;-)

Way to go Zed!
Always liked the kid. When we were a poor man’s team, Bondra and Zednik were kind of a poor man’s Ovechkin/Semin. He never put it all together here and many questioned his hockey sense and heart. I think he’s proven both by staying in the league and coming back from that horrific injury. Good for him.
I loved Zednik when he played for the Caps (both times) and I always root for him when he’s not playing the Caps. His heart should never be questioned, playing at his size and making it as a 10th round draft pick.
Interestingly enough, of the 5 players who were taken in the 10th round in 1994, 4 were NHL regulars at some point (Holmstrom, Zednik, Nash, and Berezin, in descending order of quality).
