NBC is a Game of the Week no-show

Does NHL really want to expand the viewing audience in the US? If so, then they need to find a vehicle other than NBC to do it. Not once during today's game did I see NBC show a replay of an infraction. On the first penalty I thought NBC wanted to slip in an extra advert and had no time to show the penalty but that apparently wasn't the case because the replays were omitted all afternoon. I'd hate to be a casual fan tuning in to this much-hyped match up only to be left wondering what puts a player in the penalty box. There was no commentary on any infraction but we sure got replays if Ovechkin and Crosby came within spitting distance of each other. Mike Emrick, long-time play-by-play man for the Devils, should know better. Fans would be better served if NBC/CBS/ABC/FOX would just pass through a feed out of Canada.

I watched the game when I got home on my DVR. My main interest was to see what had happened with Ovi and Sid and the scuffle they had at the end of the second period, since I had missed it during the game. I was kinda shocked when Semin and Orpik took their matching minors it was mentioned only as an after-the-fact during the ensuing faceoff…wtf?

I’m paraphrasing here, but it was something similar to:
“…and back to the faceoff, both teams now skating 4-on-4 after Alex Semin and Brooks Orpik have been charged with matching slashing penalties”.

With no replay or mention of what happened…?
