The many sides of Sasha Semin on display during this game

The stick fouls, the turnovers at the blue line, the overpassing, the occasional disinterest…

…and the fact that he basically made the first goal by himself. Not many guys can walk in and around the defender and create that angle, then get the pass where it needs to be. The stick skills to tie up Halpern, then get back down the ice and make the right pass. The play in the first where he walked past two defenders into the low slot and let go a laser.

He’s a funny one.

"You're gonna eat that g**d**n Koho, three!"

I think Ovie missing as many games as he has was a good thing for this team. They learned they don’t have to rely only on him and got some confidence. Add to that Varly playing like he has and Theo spotting him capably and the NHL should be scared.

by Beakers Lab on Dec 7, 2009 10:09 PM EST up reply actions
