21 minutes and only two comments. My, how things have changed.

Apparently the Bourque lobby stopped drinking the kool aid and opened their eyes. Better late than never I suppose.

Well, we ran out of Kool-Aid…

And found Mathieu Perrault?

Nah, real life ate me today (yes, in the snow). I’m glad he’s back – personally, I consider the whole episode a marvelous joke.

No, I just had the day from hell yesterday, and didn’t have time to visit the Rink until today.

This is very good news for the Bourque lobby!

It’s already hit the Clips thread.

I’ve been at lunch getting sauced watching the FIFA World Cup draw. I think we should claim him, tell the Penguins to screw themselves.

I think if no other team claims him and we claim him, we are allowed to send him straight to hershery

by CAPFan4Life on Dec 4, 2009 1:47 PM EST reply actions

I don’t believe that’s how it works, since we tried that business with Kris Beech a couple seasons ago and we lost him on waivers immediately. He was on three or four teams in two days. It was funny.

by jordanDC on Dec 4, 2009 1:55 PM EST up reply actions

why? it’s no different then trying to sending him to hershey the first time until Pitt intervened. If no other team tries to claim him i pretty sure were allowed to reclaim and send him striaght to hershey.

by CAPFan4Life on Dec 4, 2009 2:04 PM EST up reply actions

Yes, we can try to send him to Hershey, but we’ll be exposing him to waivers. We’re most likely not the last team that has dibs, so we could lose him again when we try to send him down (though I dunno if that’s likely).

I thought a few days ago someone said that if the Caps are the only team to put in a claim, they can immediately send him to Hershey because they were the team that originally waived him. I believe that person, but don’t know where they got it from.

That could very well be the case. I haven’t heard that before.

I think they’re referring to Article 13.22, which says something very much like that.

"No TV and no beer make Homer go something something."

Sounds like Sk8 would say that and I vaguely remember that too.

Listen to Ol' Hank Murphy and eat your damn onions.

CBA Article 13.22

When a Club claims a Player on Regular, Re-Entry or Unconditional Waivers,
and, subsequently, in the same season it requests Waivers on the same Player and the
original owning Club is the successful and only Club making a Waiver claim, then the
original owning Club shall be entitled to Loan such Player to a club in another league
within thirty days without further Waivers being asked; provided that such Player has not
participated in ten or more NHL Games (cumulative) and remained on an NHL roster
more than thirty days (cumulative) following such successful claim.

Why don’t we keep him and send Giroux to Hershey?

Let’s claim him and then trade him and Nyles to ANA for Neidermeyer.

I think we’d have to get Bob Murray drunk and high first before that happens…

No, no, no.

Trade Bourque to ANA for Nieds. But why throw in Nyls?

Nyls goes to CHI straight up for Keith.

See, I just fixed all the Caps’ problems.

And I thought I was clever for trading Nylanders and a young defenseman I signed to the Ducks for Brookbank…

Evgeny Kuznetsov hams it up as he joins the Russia men's national team for the "Sweden Games" leg of the Euro Hockey Tour in Helsinki, Finland.

There's a bit of controversy as their game against the Finns is scheduled to be played in Helsinki's outdoor Olympic Stadium. Where the daytime temps are currently approximately minus-15 degrees Celsius, with periodic heavy snow.

This interview with head coach Zinetula Bilyaletdinov is fascinating, as he frets about the weather and especially when the reporters press him on the leaked reports that Kuznetsov will be centering the top line for Team Russia, just weeks after his 20th birthday.
