local places to get caps apparel

My fiance's mom came out from LA around thanksgiving this year. I decided to give her a welcome weekend by taking her to her first hockey game (the one against the Wild a few weeks back) and a punk rock show.

At the game, Brooks decked a Wild player into his own benches and her mom loved it. She said Brooksie is her favorite player now (after watching one game). I figured it would be a fun send her a red caps tshirt gift with Brooksie's name/number on back and have her represent that caps on the west coast, but the stores I've found in the area that have caps apparel only seem to have ones with the names Ovechkin, Green, Backstrom, Semin and Valamov

Has anyone seen any stores that sell a caps tshirt with "LAICH" on the back?

I remember just a few years ago when I would walk into even the biggest sports apparel stores in the area and you'd be lucky to even see a generic caps shirt or cap. Now there's just red everywhere. Funny how things change so fast huh? This past summer I started seeing tons of Varly tshirts everywhere... even more than Ovechkin. Sure he did good for us in the playoffs and everyone had a lot of faith in him.. but that seemed like a risky move... pumping tons of money into printing varly tshirts when the kid had only played a handful of nhl games at the time.

I know the pro-shop at Kettler has them. its kind of hit-or-miss if the store at the VC is open on non-game days, and I’m not sure what T-shirts they have in stock. You might also want to try various CitySports outlets, and they have a decent-ish collection of Caps gear, but again, not sure what their stock is like.

I’d say Kettler is your best bet, they seem to have everyone.

Otherwise, you can order it through nhl.com’s shop.

Fun fact: A popular opinion can still be stupid.

The nhl.com/caps.nhl.com online sites don’t seem to have it.

This question may sound fruity but… anyone ever buy one of those caps jerseys for DOGS that some guy on ebay seems to always have?

Kettler’s great. Got my “2008 Southeast Division Champs” hat from there, and my giant Capitals magnet decal thing for my car.

I want to get one, but I’m scared it’ll be stolen. I’ve had a couple antennae balls stolen, people suck like that.

Someone stole our fan giveaway car magnet last winter and we’ve been searching for a replacement ever since. If anyone has an extra, please let me know. the giant weagle they sell, while nice, is a bit much for me.

It’s more expensive, but you can always use the shirt customizer, too.

At the price they charge for jerseys nowadays, they better not :)

What are they goin for now… 150ish? I remember back in the mid 90’s when I got my old caps jersey for like 45.

You’d like to think so, but every time I try they say that player names and numbers are unavailable.

Are they allowing player names now?

I don’t know if you have a Shenk & Tittle in your local mall but mine has a lot of Caps gear now and even some Laich Ts.

Sports Authority had a wall of stuff last time I was in it. Didn’t look closely enough to notice Laich shirts, though.

Winchester has one. The hockey selection there was always small, but pretty above average in terms of quality.

What about stuff for toddlers? I’ve been trying to get my 18 month old son a good red Caps t-shirt for a long time and can’t find one.
