Well he did have a couple hundred people packing for him, so it should have been quick.

Surely you’re undercounting.

Well, that didn’t take long. Welcome back, King Karl!

I could have been equipment manager, but nooooo!

If we don’t go back there and make that event happen, the entire universe will be destroyed… and as an environmentalist, I’m against that.

This day just keeps getting better!

Resign Semin so I don't have to buy yet another new jersey.

by Ovechkin on Dec 14, 2009 10:18 AM EST reply actions

They recalled Kyle Wilson too. Huh?

by katzistan on Dec 14, 2009 10:19 AM EST reply actions

Oy. Now who’s hurt?

They reassigned Perrault to Hershey (according to the Caps website).

by capfan on Dec 14, 2009 10:26 AM EST up reply actions

Is that a waiver-eligibility thing? His play didn’t warrant being sent down.

by Gin and Tonic on Dec 14, 2009 10:29 AM EST via mobile up reply actions

I’m not so sure. One point in his last ten games.

by David Getz on Dec 14, 2009 10:35 AM EST up reply actions

Agreed. He hit the wall. Send him back to Chocolatetown to regain his mojo and get that hunger back.

He signed his SPC in 2008 when he was (I think) 20 years old. That means he is waiver exempt for 3 years or 160 NHL games.

Perreault’s been demoted. FanShot up.

That’s too bad. I can’t imagine Wilson will be more effective than him.

by katzistan on Dec 14, 2009 10:30 AM EST up reply actions

So should we move this discussion over there?

So if Alzner is recalled, and we already have like 100 defensemen, does this mean someone is going…away?

by marks4java on Dec 14, 2009 10:24 AM EST reply actions

No need to do that under the rules — Alzner takes Nylander’s roster spot, so there’s space for him. But it’s certainly a good idea from a personnel perspective.

Corey just confirmed there are 8 d-men at practice. 8. EIGHT.

I don’t suppose he confirmed which d-man is NOT at practice? Sloan?

Probably Poither. Rib injury.

Fun fact: A popular opinion can still be stupid.

Boo. I am bullish on Pothier.

It might finally be time to buy that #27 jersey. Happy Hanukkah to me.

Wait, so when we trade for Niedermeyer, what number will he wear? Or will Karl graciously give up him 27?

by katzistan on Dec 14, 2009 10:30 AM EST up reply actions

Not sure that’s the d-man we need, but I’d certainly be happy to take him.

by marks4java on Dec 14, 2009 10:31 AM EST up reply actions

For three months, you bet Alzer gives it up.

Niedermayer is the reason he wears 27, right? I think I’d give it up to my idol too.

And for however long after if he opted to sign, like Fedorov.

by TFG on Dec 14, 2009 2:07 PM EST up reply actions

I battled between an Alzner or a Laich for the longest time – but in the end I went for the Laich.
