He signed his SPC in 2008 when he was (I think) 20 years old. That means he is waiver exempt for 3 years or 160 NHL games.

So if Alzner is recalled, and we already have like 100 defensemen, does this mean someone is going…away?
No need to do that under the rules — Alzner takes Nylander’s roster spot, so there’s space for him. But it’s certainly a good idea from a personnel perspective.

I battled between an Alzner or a Laich for the longest time – but in the end I went for the Laich.
