I’m listening to the whole clip. Just paused it to hear Don Cherry give AO some love. Great Misdirect is awesome. Some amazing riffs and transitions but it doesn’t have the full album unity of Colors. Apparently the lyrics all tell one story but I haven’t figured them all out yet.

I always thought he’d be a great fit with the Caps. He’s really big, mean and is a really good scorer and gives a complimentary threat to Ovie’s line. If Nylander gets moved and the Preds start to suck, it might happen

That would work too, but Arnott’s been more of a finisher due to the Preds lacking goal scorers in the recent years. The only reason it might not work as well is Arnott’s health and his age

That’s ridiculous. You cannot make the argument that Backs wouldn’t be an absolutely stellar 3rd line center. He doesn’t get enough credit for how good he is in his own end and he’s categorically better than Jordan offensively. He PKs well, plays physically, you name it, he does it. He’s just flat better.

F&B (or Hooks) was NOT saying that Backs wouldn’t make a stellar 3rd line… just saying that perhaps JStaal was a better fit. You’re both saying the same thing, relax.
It’s all cool with me and Knee High, no worries. He knows how much I like Nick and how much I hate the Staals. He’s preaching to the choir, and he knows it.

I think JS could put up a lot more offensive numbers given the proper linemates and more ice time. As much as Backs puts up? Almost certainly not…but as a situational fit I can see him working better in Pitt.
