'All About Eric' Eric Fehr gets some love on Dobberhockey
Jeff Angus, one of the contributors at Dobberhockey, is advocating picking up Eric Fehr in keeper leagues, or 1 year leagues if he's available as an FA (An astute JRHL player has already done this, don't bother looking).
The premise is that the author thinks that Fehr's injury woes are behind him and that he's about to launch into a career path that closely follows Glen Murray's. Murry got off to a slow start after some injuries and then got playing time in LA and Boston and really blossomed into a good source of secondary scoring later in his career by going to the dirty areas and paying the price for the puck.
I would be freakin' ecstatic if that came to pass while he was wearing the Weagle, quite frankly. A guy that has Fehr's hands and abilities on the wall and is willing and able to crash the net is an ingredient that cup-contending-Caps are going to require for a long while if they want to stay in contention.
It's nice to see a guy that's been underrated by the league at large (and perhaps by the team's management) get some love in a media source that isn't authored by J.P., David M. Getz, Becca or Pepper. Here's hoping he lives up to all that potential.

Too soon. I love the guy, but the road to waivers was paved with “potential.” I need to see more than a couple of good months out of him before I’ll be convinced.
That said, I’d love to see what:
Semin-Backstrom-Fehr
Ovechkin-Morrison-Knuble
Fleischmann-Perrault-Clark
Laich-Steckel-Bradley
can do…

I’m salivating over a lineup that has all those names on it. Health is wonderful. Even if I feel bad for Q.

I should have put it in the Fanshot – I’m totally unconvinced he’s past his injury-prone tendencies. It’s going to take years of sparkling health to convince me otherwise.
It’s more that I’d love to see the everything-falls-just-right scenario in the article come to pass than I believe that it will actually come true. Things just don’t normally come up roses all the time and that’s what it’s going to take.
I’m all about those lines with the exception of playing Clark on the 4th line and Laich on the 3rd.

Why would you want to reduce Laich’s minutes by moving him from the 4th line to the 3rd line?
This team is weird. (or maybe we should just admit that Steckel’s line is the 3rd line and Perreault’s is the 4th)

I’d like to see them roll 4 lines at ES and then give the special teams players their respective ice. Laich can play ES with MP and then take some PP/PK duty as BB sees fit. At least in my world…

I’m sick of Laich getting thrown around to plug in every hole the team has. If he goes down to the 4th line I’ll start cracking skulls.

OK, OK, I relent. I’ll put Laich on the 3rd line. I’ll even move Ovi to the 1st line.

Nice. But Backstrom has the most points on the team, so he has to be on the top line.

You forgot to duck. The ladies are going to call for your head for putting Laich on the 4th line. Of course, you could always tell them you’re just trying to stick the good looking fan favorites on the same line. I’d still swap Clark and Laich.

We’re not puck bunnies, remember? We care first about optimal performance on the ice, and only then about the icing on the beefcake. That fourth line is perfect.
I like the whole lineup, except I would probably keep 8 and 19 together until they need to be split up.

The attractiveness of the fourth line would so blind the opponents they could score at will! (F&B, was that the response you were looking for?:p)
