RUN OVER IN THE RINK: New York Rangers hockey player Sean Avery (16) collided with Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury during a game at Madison Square Garden in New York City Monday. The Penguins notched a 5-2 victory. (Bruce Bennett/Getty Images)Just thought this was a cool photo. Maybe the only time Avery isn't a douche is when he's running over a Penguin? Nah, still a douche.

I still want to punch him in the face. It’s visceral, I swear.
Fight, you time-wasting figure skaters!
It’s sort of a pretty face, but he’s such an ugly person.

Still a douche.
Funny this isn’t the expression that makes me want to punch him in the face, it’s the one after he’s been caught being a douche and looks up like “who… MEEE!” … THAT’s the looked that would cause Ghandi to crack him one.
DC, where Hockey is a baffling ordeal.
would cause Ghandi to crack him one.
which is why he still manages to be an effective instigator even though EVERYONE knows they should just ignore him. avery’s just that much of a dick. it’s a wonder, really.

Love or hate the man, he brings an aspect to the Rangers that makes them tick, and if you ask me, the Caps are missing.
Familiar Rapports: Bald Pollack, F&B, Gould Old Days.
Lobbies: Osala, Perreault, Erskine, Pothier, Neuvirth, Flash.
Fan of: Mean Lars Backstrom, Line Mashing, Cake.
I agree the Caps are missing a similar aspect and I would like a similar player on the Caps, but never Avery. New York is the only place he has worked out, he was an abject team killing failure in LA and Dallas. Even with as much energy he brings to the Rangers and how much the fans love him, he still routinely hurts that team and puts them in bad spots. Fortunately for them they have a great PK to make up for him.

All ideal points, but dunno who we could get that wouldn’t piss someone off in the Caps Blogosphere.

There are degrees of pissed off. I hate Steve Ott and would hate cheering for him, but he’d probably make the Caps better.

There are players that I hate or are generally hated but I’d want them on the Caps because they would help the team (Ott is a good example). But it’s not that I don’t want Avery because I hate him, I don’t want him because I think there is a better chance that he ruins the team chemistry and tanks the team than there is that he makes it better.
